called saying they have legal documents going out  didn't give name of company or their name  also called my daughter and ex son-in-law sounds like a scam to me

Called me saying they have legal documents that require signature. Said he will be coming with a cop to serve the legal documents. Also called my wife with same story.

ID themselves as B & L Litigations.  Claim to be a legal office.  They aren't.  They are debt collectors with a long history of debt scamming on 800notes.  A Delaware LLC doing business in California.

They have the same address.

Scam.  No legitimate process server calls and lets you know in advance they are coming by.  Police normally don't serve process although county sheriff's deputies do, for a fee.  Process server work alone.  These people are located in Southern California, and can only operate in California unless they are licensed in otehr states and cannot serve process out of California.  This is just a total scam meant to scare you into paying them something. Don't fall for it.

Thanks for the info. They called again this morning, but this time a more aggressive man with authoritative voice was on the line. The caller asked me if know a person who have the same last name as mine. While the adult person he asked about is related to me, he does not live with me neither is a dependent of mine. I know he owed few people money when he lost his business, but I was not party to any of his business dealings. My response was that if the document they want to serve does not have my name on it, then it does not concern me and I will not sign or accept it. The caller's tone got more aggressive insisting that they will be coming to my house with the cops. I told him that I will call the cops and have them arrested for trespassing if they step foot on my property. He got mad and hung up on me. I expect this continue for a while. Is there a way to stop this harassment especially when they call me while I am at work.

Harrassing phone calls from this number to myself and family members.
