Rec'd calls, from legal support services,  with message on both my cell & work lines. Must call back in 24 hours to schedule delivery of a summons, but look up states the call back number does not exist???? I do not know of any legal pending actions?? In each message I was given a file number to call back with but I was given two different file numbers.

I am almost 83 years old, with many health issues! I received the same message as Dawn. The caller said they were from Legal Support Services. She said they were contracted to schedule the delivery of my summons paperwork. She sounded very rude and demanding, and stated that if I didn't call her back within 24 hours, they would deem the address and income(?) AS VERIFIED, and the documents WILL BE ISSUED!

Same thing as all the other postings on here. Called the legal support services in los Angeles and they said that there's a scam going around. Beware of them and don't give them any money they said. Hopefully this helps.

Received the exact same message today as those above. I also looked up Legal Support Services on the computer and saw they had a different number, so I didn't call the number left on my answering machine. Had a feeling something wasn't right. Glad I did more looking and found these postings to verify my feeling that this is a scam.

I too, received a call from this number, same exact message as everyone else has reported. I called the number back, the guy who answered the phone was down right rude. He kept on saying he was a "law firm" but wouldn't specify a name or company, in which he represents. When accused of being a scam, he became very agitated & try to turn into a bully....I didn't fall for it!

I received an voicemail message with the same message as above. That I must call back in 24 hours to schedule delivery of a summons and if I didn't call back that address would be considered verified.  I call the number.  A guy simply answered the phone legal department.  I said I didn't what this was about.  I gave him the case number they left.  He said it was for such and such.  They name was familiar but not my name.  I said sorry that is not me and I have seen that person in 20 years. Take this phone number off your list.  Never gave him my name or any other info.  Just sounded to phishy.  Oh and the caller id the voicemail as a totally different number 305-351-4020

Also received a message on my voicemail similar to most posted here. caller saying they were from Legal support services regarding delivery of a summons..and if they didn't hear from me within 25 hours, they were assuming the address and phone number they had was correct. I was not familiar with the area code....nor do I have any pending legal issues or expecting any summons.  I did not call back..and so glad I checked this post!

    I received same as Frances:

The caller said they were from Legal Support Services. She said they were contracted to schedule the delivery of my summons paperwork. She sounded very rude and demanding, and stated that if I didn't call her back within 24 hours, they would deem the address and income(?) AS VERIFIED, and the documents WILL BE ISSUED!

Caller ID came up as: Unavailable / Out of area

I am so glad this website is here! This is a very convincing scam.

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

Got the exact voice mail. I looked up the number and got to this site. Thought ti was a scam until I called in the office. The man that answered was extremely rude but turns out they did have a legitimate debt of mine that charged off 10 years ago. The problem is there is some crappy process serving company spamming people and leaving these voicemails for people. I'm glad I called in before posting here but overall just be smart and safe and confirm it is a legitimate debt and correct information and don't give out any personal info over the phone.

My husband just got the same call yesterday....something didnt sound right. He said to me he was going to call back today, gave the dude the case number the rude lady left on the voicemail yesterday. Oh but the case number is for a different name. Yea didnt set right with me. Got on line typed in the phone number and here I am seeing its all happened to you as well. Well I'm not one for scams....i call them back and tell them that they are scam and he says, "OK!"...what the hell you mean, "OK!" So then he got extremely rude and so did I. I told him i was going to blast them all over the internet and he said, "sure you are" and hung up on me. So my husband calls right afterwards and they answered the phone but didnt say anything. Just sat there listening. They probably thought it was me again. Hahaha yea SCAM ALERT!!!

Got same call today.  Did not call them back.  I have had experience in the past with this.  Not one time have they called to say they was coming.  I was home when I got the call so clearly was not at my door.  And number was unknown

ID themselves as Financial Partners Group.   Or  FPG.  They also use a CID of "Legal Support" or some variation.  Total scam outfit but I've no idea where they are located.

Ignore.  This is a total scam.  No legitimate process server notifies you in advance that they are going to serve you.  Ignore them and block their calls.  They are just trying to scare some money out of you.
