This caller left a voicemail asking for a relative I don't even live with claiming a very serious judgement is against the relative and that if they aren't contacted soon, they will go out to find her.

They said the same thing about my husband. They were going to go get him if this situation isn't resolved. Last time I checked, I thought the police did that. They called twice and she gave 2 different last names.

They claim to be Stark Recovery 844-618-6194 located at 4900 California Ave Tower B 210 in Bakersfield, CA. I have called them back several time. Have to talked to an Alissa or Ashley Wright, Mia Sloan and Faith Kelly who all sound just alike. I have asked to speak to the litigator who is always busy and keep being told they will contact me if they need to talk to me. I called the company that I supposedly owe money to and they have never heard of me. I have filed a claim with the BBB and Federal Trade Commission. I'm currently have my cousin who is a paralegal looking into them as well.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

    If they are bothering you,

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection  (Threatening cirminal prosccution to collect a civil debt is a cleawr violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act)

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.   If you can find them.  No one seems to know where they really are.  I though they were in Illinois but if you call that number they say they are in Bakersfield CA.

These people called my relatives, my work and my cell saying I owed them money for a payday loan I never took out.  they had all my info, ss# bank info.  I had to change everything. These people lease their office through Regus in Bakersfield CA.  I filed a claim with the states attorney's office and the FTC.  here is the number to call to Regus and complain about their resident.  (661) 377-1847  Regus told me that these people have a virtual office and all of their mail gets sent to Regus and then they send the mail to Stark Recovery.  These people are scam artisits.  Don't pay them.  If they have all of your info, lock down your credit files and change your banking info.

these people just called me saying I owe $2500 in back taxes and that they were from the IRS and that they were filing a law suite against me. this lady with an Indian accent was trying to tell me that the IRS is going to seize all of my property and started listing properties (I don't own any property) and bank account funds unless I agree to pay them now. She was trying to tell me that she is an IRS agent and gave me a badge number. I called the IRS directly and they told me that I am in good standing and no law suit has been filed against me. I gave them (the IRS) her info and the "badge number". They said they are going to look into it and that impersonating a federal officer is a federal offense. I hope they get justice and I hope nobody falls for this scam. Do not give them any information or money!

Called me with the same [***], said I had a payday loan for 300$, back in October of 13'. And that I defaulted on it, a loan from an "Access bank" but couldn't give me a website. They pull all your info, and try to scare you into thinking its legit. Told them to [***] off, when you give them the run around they get mad on the phone and want to cut it short.

These people called me regarding a person I don't even know.  They claimed they know her place of employment, etc.  and that she had officially been served.  Considering I don't know who "they" are serving I would say they are wrong about that.  The woman "Laura" that left the message didn't leave a company name just a number to call.

I have got the same call.  These people are being investigated by the FBI. I actually contacted the real Stark Agency in WI and they know someone is acting like them. They gave me a list of things to do and file against them.
Do not give them any money.

If they call you again, demand that they stop calling you.   Tell them this:   “this is your notice that I am asking you to cease and desist from calling me or harassing me and my family any further.  I have filed complaints with my local authorities and the FBI internet crime division.”

    http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

It is very important for you to file the complaint ASAP using this link to the FBI internet crime complaint system.

    https://oag.ca.gov/consumers

This is the California Attorney Generals’ office

    https://www.ftc.gov/

This is the Federal Trade Commission

    http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

This is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

    https://www.fbi.gov/report-threats-and-crime

This is to the FBI financial crimes division.

The FBI has said they are aware of these scams and there is a large investigation going on.  Besides filing your complaint so they have a record of it you could call the Sacramento FBI and inform them of your experience. Their phone number is: 916-481-9110.
