This morning my wife received a phone call that was followed up with an identical message later in the day.

On Jan 11, 2016, 3:11pm EST, the caller left an aggressive message that was a digitized voice.  The voice message started after the automated recording started. The partial sentence seemed to suggest they would seize our assets.  They were claiming to be either the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), or, a Bill Collection Agency collecting CRA taxes that are in arrears.  The demand was to call this "Tax Defaults" number immediately, or to have our attorney call them.  The caller stated that a Bill Collection officer would be coming by soon with the necessary paperwork.

This is a scam pretending to be CRA -- don't believe them

On Tuesday Jan 12, 2016, at about 10:30 am EST, a digitized voice left an aggressive message that purported to come from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The message stated that unless we or our attorney called back this number, they would initiate proceedings to seize our assets. The CRA should do something about this scam.

I received a message that Revenue Canada was taking me to court for payment arrears and threatened me that I had committed tax fraud. They were very convincing and it wasn't until they gave me options for immediate payment that I was suspicious and looked up the number. Thank goodness for this site with this reported. Please beware.

Ya I also got a call twice from these jokers. Did can them back as I had heard of such scams. Despicable!!!

Their a scam, they called my house twice yesterday and once left the voice automated message pretending to be the CRA. It's people either on a house phone or cell phone because when I called them back it rang 100 times, an Indian male answered I could hear people in the back and he said he was blah blah with the CRA and I said no you don't work for them, he hung up right away. I contacted the anti fraud agency and they told me I was part of a mass telephone scam. Don't call them back, don't answer them anymore. The Fraud agent told me the CRA only sends out formal letters on the mail if they need to contact you. They do not phone or email so don't respond to either!

Yet another person who has experienced these calls. I have had 3 calls today each time leaving a threatening automated message. Looks like this is a new scam (reports only for the last couple of days). Hopefully they get shut down soon!

Just got 3 calls from this number today, went to my answering machine. Was a digitized voice recording threatening liens on assets and wages for outstanding debt from the CRA. Says an agent will come by within a week if we do not call or have a lawyer call. Sounded sketchy but as we do have a family member making payments to the CRA it made me wonder. Thank goodness for the help given by others here to let me know it is definitely a scam before I passed it on to the family member. Hope no one falls for this before they get shut down..

I did not answer there 1st. call, but the second time I did and offered them all the money I had and would meet them at the police station to settle all accounts, ***they hung up.***

Also received 3 automated threatening messages. Called number 844-619-0682 and the individual indicated he was from Revenue Canada. A bit intimidating at first but looked the number up and confirmed my suspicions that this is a scam. Concerned for vulnerable individuals falling for this.

Just like others have mentioned, digitized voice claiming to be the CRA.  If you dried that out you could fertilize the lawn with it.  LOL

Did you know that you can block these numbers on a cell phone? I have an iPhone. Touch the ''I" to the right of the number, scroll down to "block this caller" and click. I have drastically reduced I wanted numbers this way!

did not recognize this number, went directly to this site, thanx for your help!!!!!  why they cannot be found or charged is very disturbing.

These LOSERS called us as well, threatening to get the RCMP after us if we didn't give them money..WHAT A F**KING JOKE!!!!!!!!!!  Just Ignore these MORONS as it is a Big Joke..JUST LIKE THEM!!

Saying to call another number, ignored it. Two calls in an hour.

Jan 19, 2016 recvd 2 calls claiming they would seize our assets if didnt hear from lawyer etc. that a collections officer would be contacting us 416-855-9633, CRA
