Someone from this number called my father and said that if I did not call them immediately, legal action would be taken against me and I would be in jail.  TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!! I have had other calls from different numbers threatening to serve papers, etc. and never received any. DO NOT give them any money or information!!

A Katherine Montoya from a firm she is calling Jacobson & Wright is calling me and threatening me. She is very nasty in her tone and has said she is going to file paperwork in my county. When I googled the law firm and the number and several complaints came up for fraud. She also called two days later from the number 866-509-3612. With the same threatening tone and message.

Next time she calls, ask her in  what county the claim will be filed.  Bet she has no clue.  This is a SCAM.  You have been notified of nothing.  A written summons would be delivered by MAIL or served in person.  I doubt this is even a real law firm.

I have also received  nasty threatening calls from this number same firm Jacobson and Wright  saying there is a legal action angainst me and  they have an arrest warrent in my name, I've gotten so scare sometimes that I have become sick in bed.

Thank You for your Post, I will try it next time since I have literrally become Ill since they started calling.

Please don't be sick over this.  Don't let them live rent free in your mind.  The only tactic they have is fear.  FEAR meaning False Evidence Appearing Real.

I got a call from this number several times in one day saying that they had sent out a 10 day legal action and I have not responded back. It was asking me to call them back right away in order to settle the problem. The guy said that he was calling from J & W law firm. When I had called the number back, there were live person to speak with. Is that a SCAM?!

I got a call from this number today stating that they have a claim on me and if i didnt respond or call them back by the end of the day they will go ahead and file the claim against me. They gave me a claim number. After reading this page i knew it was a scam.

They have called a few times, and are very LOUD and stern when calling. They have even called and left messages on my teenage daughters phone. Which is really ticking me off...Doug Clark regarding a formal complaint and paper work came across his desk...and this was my final processing and good luck   Says he needs immediate response from me or my attorney by end of business.. about paper work will be submitted etc. etc...  Number always comes up as UNKNOWN.. now granted, I do have some collections calling and working with and their number and name shows up on my ID... theirs never does.... The daughter calls really get my blood boiling.. !! and I am sure some of them scum bags read these blogs.. I know where you are.. Maybe I Should call their kids and threaten !!
What can I do to stop that??

This company called my place of employment, stated they had a formal complaint against me, they proceeded to state the last 4 of my SSN, and where I work. They wouldn't provide any information on what the complaint was in regards to unless I verified their information. I advised that I would not verify any information and they stated as previous people commented, that they were going to file this with the county. I told them to go ahead, requested they do not call my place of employment again, and ended our call. They then called back to my office, and another associate that answered the call  stated they requested the number to HR. Now I'm in a fit to contact HR so they don't think this is valid and provide information to these guys. Thank you for the previous comments educating us that this a scam, Hope my company is smart enough to not provide them with any info.

I have been receiving automated messages from 1-914-621-2509 Florida (per caller id) advising they are Jacobson & wright. Said they filed a ten day notice, that me or my atty have not gotten back yet. Stated I need to call them at 1-844-647-7348.  I absolutely have never had outstanding debt. This is a total scam. Their robo caller needs work too, it's terrible w name pronouncing.

i received the same call! they say they want to know my address to serve me legal forms. I called the number back and realized it was a scam. when you call it doesnt even say "law offices" on the greeting. It just says "Offices of J&W", I continued with the call and entered the extension. The lady was practically threatening me, screaming and calling me names! They also tried to get info from my employer, as my HR knew there was something strange about the person calling. HR gave no info.

A Paul Harris called my cell phone stating that I owe 311.00. He told me that I had to pay this off.I gave him a prepaid card number then I had cancelled it. Then on Friday he had called my job and lefted a message for me to call him.

Someone called my fathers phone saying to call them immediately re:checks, mind they I've never gotten a call from them on my personal phone. Said his name is Paul Harris calling from J&W law firm. Let's see if he calls me back & not my father!! Sounds like a scam to me

we just got the same message from the same guy with the same topic...we have never written a bad check so this is a scam.

I too was contacted the other day 12/7/2015 by a Doug Clark, Donnell White, and that someone by the name of Mike Jacobson or Paul Harrison from the law firm of J&W will be serving legal documents on me between the hours of 2pm and 4pm by process servers of ACM in the county of Clark where I live in Las Vegas.. They too gave me a court case number.  When I googled on ACM processing it comes up with the Sheriff Dept. address and phone number

This same thing is happening to me. Glad to hear it is a scam!!!

Jacobson and Wright uses illegal debt collection practices. Follow the links and prompts in the FTC website to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to file a complaint. I've spoken with attorneys, police, and the BBB. This is not a reputable company to do business with...protect yourself and file a complaint or hire an attorney!
