This is for Cash Jar.  The Collection Agency that is calling calls themselves CHA, this is ridiculous, these people keep calling, i have paid this debt, but they continue to sell the debt,

This and other 844 numbers have called me 5 times in the last 2 weeks looking for 2 individuals who happen to have my maiden name. My cell phone record is still under my maiden name so I'm assuming they're somehow finding my number based on this. I believe this is a scam because the person identifies herself as Cynthia Williams and states she's calling on behalf of a claim/case filed in "blank county", but she pauses and then completely mispronounces the name of the county as if it's not at all familiar her.

They asked for a person, fist name 'Brandy (spelling?}

Occasionally leave a message. I don't listen to it, erase the message, and block the number. If they were a legitimate company, they would follow the law. Since they're not legitimate, they don't. I don't answer the calls, nor do I respond. I've called to report these scambags, and wouldn't you know it, the authorities are aware of them.

These collections keep calling my MINOR sons phone asking for John Miller and Tiffany Miller and some Michael. I am absolutely sick of it; I have repeatedly told all of these Morons that it is not their phone that it is my MINOR sons phone and still they call. It is not rocket scorch to take a number off a call list. They better take it off or I'm gonna get an atty and file a lawsuit for harassment. I'm done.

Called and left identical recorded message that was previously called from 844-513-3139. Both are Google Voice phone numbers. When calling them back, it's a bunch of College aged kids answering the phone.   If they can't follow the Fair Debt Practices Act and put it in writing, they are a SCAM.  Block their calls.

This is not a legitimate call, it is a scam. If you asked them for an address or anything to help verify the information they will hang up on you.

Agreed--I was told they received information via the Anthem medical breach last year. They have my SSN, address, etc. They don't follow the FDPA and are obviously scams. I spoke to them once in November and read the law and the woman began screaming at me that they would see me in court...for an alleged payday loan that I obviously never took out. They are based in Jamaica.

They keep calling after we have told them not to.

I've received 2-3 calls per day from this number.  I blocked another 844 # from last week and they still found a way to call.  They have reached out to my wife, saying that I owe on a payday loan for CP Investors from 2012.  Not once, have I ever taken out any loan from this company.  When I call back to ask more questions, they are unable to provide me with any information.  All they say is they are looking to settle on this loan.  Last conversation I had with one of their scammers was yesterday after calling them out on their scam.  He eventually hung up on me.

They called me stating I had a payday loan as well. I reported them to the FTC, and asked them for a validation letter. They could not tell me anything except they had a breach of Contract with Midland financial.

They keep calling and when you call them, the phone picks up and then hangs up.

They call me and then they call my daughter, telling her they are about to arrest me and then they call my near 90 mother and tell her they have a warrant for my arrest which upsets her for weeks.  I have tried to explain to her I owe them no money and that they are a scam but she still gets upset and talks to them every time.  I don't know what else to do.

No one gets arrested over civil debt.  Not for over 200 years in this country when it was outlawed.

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number

They are calling me nonstop and now friends and family memberss.

So this number (844) 661-8919 called me asking for my ex husband. Couldn't pronounce the name which was odd since its a very common name. and I haven't been married to him for almost 9 years. They asked for his number and i hung up.

I have been receiving calls from the same robovoice for over a month now. They refer to the same case number but they have changed their phone number over 4 times now. Most notably they were using 844-243-2207, 844-290-7031 and 844-243-2007. Yesterday they called me at this number and left me their typical message on my cell phone and work phone. Then someone live left me a message about 40 minutes later on my cell phone(Jamaican accent) saying that I had to call them back today or the matter would escalate. Funny, after a month of harassing phone calls you think the matter would have escalated by now. I know this is a scam and have no intentions of calling them back. I already filed with the FTC but honestly these are criminals and they don't follow laws anyway. I am just wanting them to stop calling! Get the hint already, I am not taking your threats seriously so stop calling! Please do not let these losers scare you into thinking you owe them money, as in the posts above, bill collectors do not have the right to harass you like this. Do not fall for this scam!
