- SCAM ALERT!!!I received a call from this number yesterday where the gentleman claimed to be a detective from the Birmingham Police Department. He proceeded to threaten me that if I didn't pay $730 they were going to put out a bench warrant for my arrest and send child protective services to get my children. He also kept asking for my address and wanting me to confirm mine and my husband's social security numbers. I asked his name and he told me his name was Earl Montgomery later on after an internet search I discovered that is a character in a movie called National Security. I immediately hung up and proceeded to call the Birmingham Police Department only to find out they had no detectives by that name. I also placed a call to my local sheriff's department and they sent an officer to my home and I filed a police report. The officer that came to my house actually called this number back to question them about the phone call that was made to my home and was told that I wasn't in their database at all. The officer believes this is a scam and warned me to be wary of having any interaction with them in the future. The officer told them to take my number out of their system because supposedly it was linked to another person with whom I don't know but in all honesty I'm not sure they care if they will impersonate police officers I'm not sure they actually care about anything the law says. Just beware that they will use whatever means and threats necessary to get what they want.
- 844-339-4388Called my landlord and said it would be affecting his rent if he didn't give them my phone number.
- SCAM ALERT| 2 repliesRecorded message saying they're "trying to deliver legal documents" and if I wanted to "settle this matter out of court" I needed to call back. Interestingly the recording gave a different phone number than caller ID: 884-704-5172. Definite scam.
Name identified as something like "James Franglio with CPC servers".- Caller: CPC Servers
- Galen Rhodes| 1 replyThey called me today and didn't say who they were. Then then said they had documentation to send me and gave my address and said if I didn't call them back at (844) 339-4388 that they'd "process the documentation with the clerks office" and gave me a docket number.
- Caller: Not Identified
- Call type: Debt collector
- Erika replies to SCAM ALERTThey just called telling me the same thing...left a recorded message. They don't ask for anyone specific either.
- Guessgirl replies to SCAM ALERTI got that recording, too. But my caller ID matched what they gave. Or at least I think it did. The number was given so fast that I couldn't write it down even though I already had paper and pen in hand when they called. I did a reverse lookup on whitepages.com, but the area code is supposedly invalid.
- Slim replies to Galen RhodesLegitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process. They will deliver the notification without warning.
Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam
"The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."
"Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court." - AnonymousThey repeatedly were calling me so I called them back and spoke with "investigator Allen" he preceded to yell at me and bully me on the phone, threatening arrest. When I asked him if this was a scam he said "what do I sound like I'm from Afghanistan?!" Really? The thing is we do owe money to the company they were claiming to be collecting for. We called the company asking them if they use this cpc server company for collections they promptly said no and that this place is a scam. Do not listen to these people! I almost fell for them but something in my gut told me something was wrong.
- Anonymous replies to Scam| 1 replyDO NOT TAKE THESE CALLS!!
Mine have come from a large sort of numbers, all threatening the same thing..... That if I want to handle this matter out of court then to return their call. For fun I had a friend three way with me, so they would know that I had my attorney on the line and that this call was being recorded for use in the future. Amazingly enough, I was "disconnected" and the calls stopped for a while. I got the first one today in a long time.
Please note to ANYONE receiving calls from this number, anything that has legal precedence carrying the weight of possible jail time, fines or other is NEVER communicated over the phone and always in writing so they have proof. - LouchiousThese idiots have left me numerous messages. I am a law enforcement officer, and am filing paper work on them.
- AnonymousCalled left 2 voicemail saying a legal matter but did not identify himself, his company, or me in the message. When I called back he refused to say what it was about or where he works, however asked for my full name and ssn to "look me up". I refused and asked for his company name. He asked if I was a lawyer and refused to tell me and then hung up on me when I continued to refuse to give him any personal information without him properly identifying himself first.

- Lora C.Received a call from an individual who identified himself as "John Wilkes" with JPC Servers claiming this was our "last chance" to "take care of the matter" or "face a court filing and possible arrest". "John Wilkes" did not identify this household or anyone in this household by name nor did he identify which company JPC Servers was representing.
Since we have no outstanding legal issues of any kind, I contacted our local law enforcement agency and filed a complaint.
The investigator explained this was most likely a scam.
"John Wilkes" and "JPC Servers" it appears your scam has become well known.- Caller: JPC Servers
- Robo R| 1 replyThanks everyone for posting such detail. I got the same call from a "John Wilkes" who left a message about delivering legal documents and inquiring if I wanted to settle out of court. Since I didn't have any idea what it was about and it sounded like a scam, I went to my trusted friend....the Internet.
Now I know I can safely ignore this jerk and put him on my blocked callers list. :)
And it does make sense that this is just a scam. If you are to be served papers...you can expect a knock on the door from US Marshals or Sheriff's Department. I've been served twice and that's how it works (I was summoned to appear in court as a witness).
But it makes me sad that some people are likely to fall for this nonsense...and end up paying just to make it go away.- Caller: JPC Servers
- Rob replies to Robo RDidn't he mention his full name was John Wilkes Booth Patel, and he was calling you, as he rode through the streets of Calcutta, on his camel?
- 112233Got a VM about legal documents and court etc complete scam, rude, and trying to get your info guys name was Paul Murphy
