- Vanessa| 31 repliesDid not pick up. Honda customer service team left an automated recorded message on replacing the defective airbag inflator part that was recently on the safety recall notice. 2001-2 Honda Civic. They are urgently requesting action from owners of Honda civics.
- Caller: Honda Car Company
- Call type: Event reminder
- Susan replies to Vanessa| 1 replyI have had several phone calls from the same number with the exact same message. Honda recall 2001 air bags
- Susan| 1 replyI am experiencing at least one call a day from this number claiming Honda airbag recall. I do not and never have owned a Honda vehicle.
- Nikki| 1 replyI don't even own a Honda so why is this number calling me.
- Billcalled about Honda airbags, do not own a HONDA.
- Call type: Event reminder
- Jeannie| 8 repliesI own a Honda but was told by the dealership the parts for my recall won't be available until October. I have been receiving these calls daily, so I called the number back and spoke with a very nice man and explained what was happening so they would stop calling me when there was nothing more I could do. He was more than happy to assist and even sent a note to corporate notifying them I'd been told by the dealership that I could not get the work done for several months because he said though there's a backlog the wait should not be that long.
I would suggest, if you are one of those who says they don't own a Honda and are getting these calls daily, just call the number back and tell them to remove your number from the call list since you don't own a Honda.- Caller: Honda Recall Notice
- bnb replies to Jeannie| 1 replyI received the Honda phone call also. I suspect that the previous owner of my cell phone number must have owned a Honda because I do not and never have owned one.
- donHONDA still calling my cell phone, week after week - leaving messages for different people. Today - first call I answered - the caller asked for a completely different name than mine, and different car model and year. I told him - wrong person - caller said he would take phone # off the list. An hour later - automated call from same number left a message on my cell phone. I blocked the call.
weird.- Caller: HONDA
- NOVAKay| 6 repliesThis is a legitimate call from Honda regarding air bag defects. I received a call from this number at 8:12 am and again before 8:30 am Saturday of Labor Day weekend (Didn't answer first time until I checked this site.) They recommend calling this number (844-758-9245) or scheduling the free replacement via www.myhondaauto.com
- Caller: Honda
- Call type: Event reminder
- Badge714 replies to NOVAKay| 2 repliesDue to caller ID spoofing IF you actually own a Honda, call your local Honda dealership where you bought the car. LOOK the number up, and verify it. If there is a recall/defect, they'll help you. The web site you posted above belongs to a 3rd party group. I cannot say if they represent Honda, but I do know they have a C- rating with the BBB.
- GatMy husband does own a honda and so does my son.. both have already had the work done for the recall quite some time ago. Yet we keep receiving phone calls way too often. Got one at 8:15 this Sat. morning.. My husband decided to call the # back and got a recorded message saying they are not open until 9:00. Makes a person wonder what the heck is going on?
- Caller: ?
- Barbara Yates replies to Vanessa| 1 replyYes, I received them too but am happy that you provided who it was as yes, I have a Honda that has an airbag recall, glad they reminded me.
- Performant| 1 replyI received a large postcard from some organization with this number (1-844-758-9245) on it telling me to call the number and go to myhondauto.com. I can't find any information on who registered this site (I saw that it was registered through GoDaddy). And the letter, a big glossy single piece of cardboard has my VIN prominently displayed - but it never really claims to be from Honda. owners.honda.com is the official Honda owners site.
The letter says to take three steps: 1) Call that 1-844 number. Then 2) Call your dealer to schedule an appointment. Why step 1? Then step 3) go to that website. What is all this? In past recalls, I only need to contact the dealer to schedule the work.
Something doesn't smell right. I've received the official recall documents from Honda. Why this extra stuff? They've never done it for any other recall, not even the seat belt buckle one. If I had to guess - it's some kind of shenanigan. Like I say, something doesn't smell right. - RobinReceived call about airbag inflator recall for 2001 Honda - we have a 2002 in the family, but have never had a 2001. This is NOT a valid call, nor even a call for someone else with that phone # who might have a 2001 Civic, as we've had this landline number since 1984! URL given me for further info, myhondaauto.com, comes up with a legit-looking page but no other Honda company links on it, and entering a VIN brings an error message from Verizon "What is this page? Sorry, We could not find hr3b.myhondaauto.com". For accurate info about your car's recall status, go here: http://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls
- Caller: supposedly Honda
- Robin replies to PerformantSee post below - it's garbage.
- sukiUnknown number. did not answer. No message left.
- VINI called the # on the Honda's postcard. The rep said this 844 # is a 3rd party trying to collect all the owner info and launch a civil lawsuit against Honda on this airbag issue. She said Honda only use 888 and 800 #.
- Caller: Possible Scam
- Carol replies to Jeannie| 1 replySame here, my dealer said the parts are on back order, so why is Honda calling us??? Get the parts out rather than call us!!
- Simonglad to get a phone call from Honda informing me of recall repair work
- Ron| 1 replyI received an email (Oct. 6, 2015) with the subject "Vehicle Recall Alert" URL was honda @myhondaauto.com. It lists the number 844-758-9245. It says that my Honda needs REPAIR. Yet, I have a 2008 Honda which is NOT part of the Takata Airbag Recall. NOTE: This email is a SCAM. It is BOOGUS. Do NOT Click-on the LINK listed in the email. Do not call the Boogus phone number as listed in the email.
I have checked and the actual HONDA website is as follows ....... https://owners.honda.com. The actual HONDA Motors USA Customer Service number, as listed on their official site, is 1-888-234-2138. They are available only from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm PACIFIC time. If you really have a concern if this recall affects your Honda vehicle .......... please call your local HONDA Dealer directly.
