- Jaclyn| 1 replyKeep getting calls from this number as well as 877-333-0631 and 855-791-7376 saying I have failed to respond to previous notifications regarding a lawsuit scheduled to be filed against me under order # 141544. They say they have now submitted a request to proceed with the filing unless I call them immediately. They have called family members, friends and my work looking for me saying I have a lawsuit being filed against me! I called the # back they left for me and asked for the name of the company....after MUCH hesitation a guy said FCS Management. I then asked for the address and he put me on hold. Then another guy picked up and I asked the same question to him and he asked if I had a file # with them, I told him NO, he then said, "If you aren't going to give me any information, then I am not going to give you any information!" Then hung up on me! SCAMMER!!!!!!!!!! I have reported this bogus company to the FCC, and every agency possible!
- Caller: FCS Management

- Slim replies to JaclynA phone call from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:
