Said she was an IRS agent and I needed to meet at the courthouse with my criminal defense attorney to be served a tax fraud affidavit. I called back to ask what are you talking about? What court do you want to meet at? Then phone went dead. It's a scam. I reported to Police Dept. and the Federal Do Not Call Center. I would like to sue them. Police said to report to IC3.gov so I did.

Same thing happened to me they went further. They said that they will put a warrant for my arrest.

same here....I need to call them back right away or have my attorney call regarding tax fraud. Said they were from the legal office of the Treasury Dept. If I don't call they will take action.

they have called me 3 times today leaving messages.I plan on sueing them since I am on the Federal DO Not Call List.they say they are the Internal Revenue service and they want to serve a tax fraud affidavit to me but they will not meet me anywhere.I would show up with my son US Marines and the police dept.People like this gotta be stopped.

what is kinda funny is this website we are on has advertisements for IRS Tax relief lawyers? that could be it ,a scam from advertisers?

Your welcome. If you have call blocking, I'd block them. Or if you don't, you may want to look into getting a call blocking device. They can do nothing, most of these calls are coming from India sadly..

Of course they won't meet you any where, they are simply posers.

Ignore them.  Most likely scammer/extortionists located in India.  Block their calls.

Just received the same call.  I contacted the IRS as listed above •report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484. and was told so many calls were coming in that their mail box was full.  Was told to go to website tigta.gov (Treasury Inspector General) and report the incident there, which I did.  Thank you for the information Tamianth.

Received a call from 844-858-6960. 5:00 am PST. Said he was federal agent KEVIN PETERSON representing the United States Internal Revenue Service. Told me I was being taken to court over my IRS account that same day. He already had an unusual amount of information about my tax account with the IRS, but could not verify anything but my street address. Pressed me for bank information. Threatened me with follow up calls from attorney general.
PLEASE NOTE that the Internal Revenue Sevice makes contact thru the USPS. They do not call you unless you request it. They do not ask you to verify any financial info in phone calls, e mail or any social media. If you are contacted by this number, report them at www.tigta.gov ( US Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration). This is a massive scam initiated outside the US that has already collected over a million dollars through fraudulent activities.

Just got a call from this number, 844-858-6960.  Same thing as everyone above.  Most likely from India running a scam.  Blocking this number.

I had this number call today, thank goodness for reverse # look-up and the scammers using the same names.  As everyone else stated, they pretended to be from the IRS legal dept and were "willing to work with me" instead of having the sheriff's deputy show up and arrest me within 60 minutes.  I kept them talking, probing for more information, asking where I could send the check, etc.  They did their best to have me go to the bank, take out $1995, turn that into pre-paid debit cards, then to call them back with the card info which they would take and remove me of my funds.  They called back 30 minutes later after I had stated I'd go to my local store which they referred to as an "official government office."  When I talked to them a second time, I brought up the fact that their # and names do not appear to be legitimate, they became hostile & threatened the sheriff's dept. action again.  I simply asked them which county the sheriff would be coming from and they said, "I don't know" and hung up.  I have reported this incident to http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/

I had reached the Real IRS earlier in the day, after the initial phone call from this number. I told him that the IRS said he was phishing. For my personal information. To commit Identity Theft.

yes they called and threatened me 3 times on Saturday,differant Indian accent people.Then they started calling me again this morning.I had googled the # after calling the phone company and saw it was a scam.How rude and abrasive these dirtbags are? I reported to ic3.gov that's what my local police debt said to do.

hello everyone,after the scammers calling again today I called Verizon to ask why do I pay them every month for a blocked,unlisted phone # if dirtbags like this are free to harass me non stop? No real answer they just said to report to cpni. or FCC.gov complaints.So I did,I would like to sue them I am on the Federal Do Not Call list too? Maybe a class action lawsuit but like everyone is saying there probably in India,no wear to be found.I bet they will call again tomorrow.I have 4 threatening messages now for evidence.Good luck to all,
