This scammer (from N.Y.) called my cell phone and left the following message:
"This is an important message the requires your immediate attention. You were overcharged on a purchase that you made in the past, and we are required by law to inform you and give you an opportunity to claim your refund. We have tried contacting you two other times and this will be our final attempt. Please go to www.sendmemyrefund.com and enter code ****, this will let you know how much you are owed. All refunds are processed within 24 hours.

YEA RIGHT...no I did not go to their site!!!! Probably just wants personal information.

VM said I qualified for the highest gold-level of $1000 just in time for the holiday weekend and to go to nofeeswire.com and enter an authorization code.  Needless to say, I did not visit that site. I have had a payday loan in the past, so now I know better.  I have added this number to the long list of blocked/reject call numbers that appear as SPAM in my call log.

Got the same call as gmd 10 miuntes ago.....how do these calls get through when I am on the do not call list?  Is that list just a scam also as a way to track cell phone #s??  Ugh.....

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

Remember, the Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.  The DNC list does not cover calls from criminal scammers & spammers.  To report those, visit https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

yeap same thing Just got a call on this too to my cell phone - HATE that... funny how alot of these messages all happen within a short time of eachother. I actully wanted to check it out due to my CC that I have an automatic thing that will tell me if I over paid for something. GLAD I googled the # first and found this!

I just received the same call and message. ANNOYING!!!

Glad I googled this phone #.  I just received the same msg as gmd (above).  I did not go to the website, deleted the msg.  There is enough evidence here that it's a scam

Just got a voicemail saying the she thing...block list...it goes ...good thing I googled this and saw all the comments

I received a call also.  It's a scam.  I called the number back and it says your call cannot be completed.

Got the call on my cell phone about 5mins ago and same message as noted by GMD asking me to claim my refund including a code I should use.

I also just received the call. I did go to the website with a protected live Linux machine to see what the website is all about.. They just want your information.

Just got this call. Didn't answer. Filling a complaint.

Got same msg a couple hours ago.  Number did not come up on my caller id though.  Listed as "no caller id."

we were told to go to www.sendmemyrefund.com, we supposedly have been overcharged for an item and this was the 3rd and final  attempt to notify us by law. I think it is a scam, no web site exists

Website is registered in Panama on May 7th of this year, and for only one year. It's also registered behind a privacy proxy. Lots of red flags on that one.
