- Concerned Mother| 5 repliesThis is an employment scam. Do not take the interview do not go in and do NOT give any of your personal information. They will state they found your resume on Monster or Career Builder and you are a perfect fit for the position. They will have you rush in for an interview the next day or two days after. Once there they will ask you personal information such as the make and model of your car. In my 20+ years of employment and interviews I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED THIS TYPE OF INFORMATION UNTIL I WAS ALREADY HIRED ON AS AN EMPLOYEE. I have reported them to the Washington State BBB and Police Department. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR INFORMATION! If you look on the BBB NATIONAL website you will see this company moves from state to state taking information and then bailing!

- SJE replies to Concerned Mother| 1 replyThank you for letting me know about this scam. I just applied to this today and already have an email (within an hour of applying, seriously) and a phone call from their "corporate office."
- lf replies to Concerned Mothergot the same here, was going to call, but looked up number first. boy am i glad!
- Austinwow, thanks. Just got a call from Shannon... That's not very nice Shannon.
- James replies to SJEThe same thing happened to me today and I was suspicious. Thanks everyone for helping clarify this.
- jason replies to Concerned Mother| 1 replyI just went in for an interview and I never felt like it was a scam the whole time. I asked about the reason for the car question and the receptionist explained that it was because they keep a tab on the cars in the parking lot because they have a problem with cars being left in their lot overnight. What can someone do to you knowing the make and model of your car? This makes no sense. I would understand if they would have ased personal info like social, address etc.
- JorgeI applied for a customer service position a "DT marketing" on career builder very late at night. i received an email response before i woke up the following morning. i was skeptical when i could not find an official Website for a company that was supposedly expanding. so i didnt respond to the email, i was just called by a human resources representative at (845)778-3228. when i asked why they did not have a website, she responded by saying that the website was www.dtmarketing.com. i was in front of my computer as i was on the phone and entered the website as i spoke to her. there is no such website on the internet. if it isnt a scam it certainly seems like it, the woman became very hostile when i questioned the company so i declined an "interview."

- AnonymTHIS IS A SCAM!!!
Everything the top poster said is true. Please don't even send them your resume because even that has a lot of personal information. There is NO website on them, they have no reviews, nothing. Also, I found the address to the building they are supposedly in and called another "company" from it who "verified" that DT Marketing was real, this company also does no exist online. IT'S ALL A SCAM!- Caller: DT Marketing, Federal Way, WA
- ChristineThank you so much for the info! I filled out an application online and I found it SO odd that they asked for info on my car. When they called they seemed WAY too eager to work around my school schedule and call me in for an interview. It sounded fishy to me so I looked them up and found too many red flags; no website, no reviews and these cautionary reviews. I just sent an email canceling with them. Although I hate my current job at least I know they're legit.

- KaylaI sorta figured this had to be a scam, I'm glad I searched it. Thanks for the information. Just to add, this is their website http://www.dtmarketing.net/index.cfm. Half the links don't work.
- James| 2 repliesThis isn't the same company as the number or the website. There is a DT Marketing in Federal Way and one elsewhere. People aren't very smart. Look at the area code. You almost made me miss out on my interview because I listened to these comments. Just thought people should be informed.
- ChristieI applied for the same position the night before, and sent them my resume through Monster. Today I got a call from DT Marketing but the woman didnt leave her name. She scheduled an interview for me to meet with Christian tomorrow @ 1pm in Federal Way. That was pretty fast how they called, they really must be looking for people, but I knew this wasnt legit. I could just feel it by talking to her......they called from this number 206 304 4899. And, NO! I am not showing up for that interview!!!

- Federal Way replies to James| 1 replyHow did your interview go? Im pretty sure you should google DT Marketing a little bit more and you will find that the Federal Way Washington Company is as scam.... I found this through a facebook page that specifically mentions Federal Way..... This is the 2nd business in Federal Way that I have had interviews for that have turned out to be scams... Another one to look out for is a management position at Elite Management, they claim to be a wholesale distributor but thats all they will tell you over the phone. Once you go in for the interview they tell you that they sell knock off perfume.... that was the only red flag I needed. I did not go back to the second interview as I went home and did my research there is tons of postings of this company getting over on people.

- was only there for 5 days replies to brandon from washingtoneverything is a scam there. the pay, work hours, no benefits, and the people. You work these dumb 12 hour days and they say you get benefits but you really dont and this guy there name mj is the dumbiest person ever. He supposed to be the best person there but all he does is fake potential customer voices and signs them up with out knowing. I was only there for 5 days but it was 5 days too long..Every person that worked there was complaining about the guy who runs it and saying he doesnt even know how to do sales. How you expect to learn sales if the guy who runs doesnt even know.
- FW applicantSo i read these blogs before going into my interview at DT Marketing in Federal Way, and decided I wasn't interested in the job anymore but that I was still going to go in and see what they company says in their interviews.I experienced the same exact things that everyone else did when applying for the job. Odd area code, exact email instructions, etc. I met with Christian in his bare office with a picture of the US map on his wall and two white boards that that had a couple individual names on them. Nothing business related. His desk had no company name, info, not even paperwork that would make him look like he was busy "working." He told me they work with Marketing fortune 500 companies all they way down to mom and pop places. Home depot, Buydirect, etc. When I questioned him about any company pamphlets he couldnt provide any. I asked for a website name because I couldnt find them online and he asked if I was looking for DT marketing site of US Home Services site which is apparently the parent company. I said either one and he said "I dont know the Us Home Services site (which he stated has been around for 30 plus years) because I have never been on there and then he said he has been slacking to trying to get his DT Marketing site up and running." When I went home, I googled both companies and nothing came up. No website or info for US Home Services, the "Umbrella company." When I asked if he had a business card he went searching through his "home depot" business cards but "just gave out his last one to the applicant before me, it seems that everyone has been requesting one." Very strange and coincidental. The guy only asked me 3 questions: name three words that a friend would describe about me, 3 words a previous employer would describe about me, and what do i like to do outside of work. Then he jabbered on the entire interview spewing what he had obviously practiced and used on other applicants. The Customer Service position he then said was actually for an entry level manager in training position, not really customer service. So they try to sell you on the idea that you will be a manager of your own area in 8 months. He said he was promoted to manager after 4 months. Nonetheless, I left his office and warned the young man sitting in the waiting room to ask Christian a lot of questions. Definitely a fishy thing going on....
- Bellevue "victim"i actually didnt hear about this being a scam until today which was my third day of orientation... at first i though my luck for job searching was changing ... and it all went downhill today ...
as me and the 30 - 40 people were in this " meeting room " waiting for the branch manager "Debbie" to finish her explanation of the training phases for your work.. one of the participants who had attended the previous two days was waiting outside the to speak with her... when she got so upset after she had come to realize what was going on she actually interrupted the presentation to ask to speak with her ( debbie) insisting on knowing how long she would be waiting several times ... and then it all started to go VERY VERY VERY DOWNHILL from there ...
during our ten minute break ... me and the other front row applicants had the perfect seats for the disaster which followed in Debbie's office... the reflection in the aquarium provided the best " worst case scenario" of why you SHOULD NEVER EVER WORK OR TRUST ANYONE WHO WORKS HERE" ...
the girl in the office had pulled out several testers of what we could only assume to be samples of the real perfume .. probably demanding to smell what their samples smelled like, debbie made several runs ... to the back office because two to three samples werent enough to prove her argument that they had similar smells ...
the girl ... angry at this point ... had called the cops ... { i swear i am Not Lying } the cops came to settle this dispute ... needless to say the girl left and i hope she was lucky enough as i and the other applicants to have her order cancel . and for that i am very much grateful because 25 $ for a knock off perfume is never worth it ... you might as well go to china town ..if you really wanna buy a knock off .. but still a serious question rises from this . why would you >? why not save money and buy the real thing ... ??? the very idea of buying a knock off is low to me .. because you're trying to pass something for what its not .. and on that note i think actually selling knock-offs is 100x more disgusting, because your promoting a very true idea which might seem odd for this company... the idea of fake.
odd that anyone would actually go for this ... especially the young generation .. since most try to show up flashy with their designer names and all the things they can afford .. we live in a high materialistic world ... and the U.S. is a consumer nation of brand name products .. key words: BRAND NAME.
. not to mention the travel distance for training that never pays you ... i think i read somewhere that thats against the law .. i am considering reporting this incident to the BBB .. i am also right now highly concerned that i allowed myself to give these people my SSN .. i will have to be monitoring my credit very closely ... - kelly replies to jasonBecause you will be required to travel to Home Depots all over the area without getting compensated for gas. you will also be using your own cell phone to book appointments. again without comp.
