The call was a hang-up

Has called twice, doesn't speak. Caller is Thanks from MOD. Left phone sitting, and it timed out after 3 minutes.

I just got a call from them also....

googled the number and found this thread.

Caller ID reads, Thanks from MOD. No message left on machine.

Called the number back, and did some research - apparently it's March of Dimes.

ALL unsolicited calls need to be banned immediately.

This is a SCAM.  The correct number for the March of Dimes is
(914) 997-4488

Again...caller hung up when our business answering machine picked up.

I believe that it is the March of Dimes.
I got a call on 5/27/09 on 845-790-8092 where the caller ID had "March of dimes" on it.

They keep calling.  They do not leave a message.  I now pick up the phone and hang up and the still call back/  THANKS FROM MOD.  I am sick of it.  I am on the do not call list but doesn`t do any good.  Help

I've called the MOD for Texas and am awaiting a return call to see what is up with this number.  They have been calling for about 5 months now, when I have answered it clicks & they hang up. When I call back I get a frickin' recording stating "this is the March of Dimes, sorry we missed your call, we will try you back" no option to be removed or anything.  I don't think it's a scam as Eleanor stated above, it's just a pain on the [***] charity annoying the crap out of people which will just make folks NOT donate.  
BTW: Charities are not goverend by the DO Not Call & if you think the DNC does any good, you're an idiot!

Received a call from 845-790-8094 March of Dimes - hangup.
When I called back, I received a prompt to remove my number however when I input my number several times, it continually read back the wrong number so removing my number was incomplete.  Quite a scam.  Are they trying to capture information?

Everyday I get a call from this number, "Thanks from MOD." I also get calls nearly everyday from "March of Dimes" and the number is nearly the same, 845 790-8092. I do not answer. If they want to talk to me then they can leave a message from a human.

The worst thing i ever did was say yes to  MOD aka March of Dime, volunteer fired department and Police funding, these so call Telephone Solicitors  are becoming my worst nightmare  they are relentless with there calls  MOD start calling my house from 8:15 am up to 9pm at least 2 to 3 times a day, the police   calls 2 a day everyday last year i had to tell the police solicitors that i am not the red cross so tired of these people i wanna cut off my telephone.

I do not think this is the "real" March of Dimes. I have been receiving calls relentlessly for over a month from the following phone numbers:

Sometimes the name says "March of Dimes," sometimes it says "Thanks from Mod," and sometimes it says "Unknown;" the name changes often--even for the same phone number. When I picked up, the line went silent. This is not typical "March of Dimes" behavior. I suspect that some scam artist is spoofing the IDs/numbers.
Note that Elenor above wrote that "the correct number for the March of Dimes is (914) 997-4488" not 845-790-XXXX.

We contacted March of Dimes' headquarters in New York at 914-997-4488 on 6/19/09. The numbers we complained about were 845-790-8093, 8094 & 8095, which they addmitted was part of their program. They reported having a glitch in their telephone computer program/dialing softwear and have received thousands of complaints and were very apologetic. They are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved by next week. You can contact Ms. Jackie Parker in the Donar Dept. and she will take your number off the system.
