This person has called my cell and now my work number. He got RUDE with me on the phone. I told him to remove my number and yet he calls me back. I told him if he calls me again I will get ahold of a lawyer. GEEZ, don't people understand DO NOT Call?!

I got 2 missed calls from this number too but they wouldn't leave a message.  I cannot tell who is calling me.  So annoying.

I got a call from this number a few times in a row. I never pick up unknown numbers, but this one is totally annoying. They leave an empty message.

I have been recieving these calls too recently,asking if i am my daughter. They say they are trying to contact her and that they have been calling her cell# but the cell# they have is not hers. I fefused to give her #out.So they ask if I would give her a message. I ask what this is all about and they say it is personal business. They claim to be Asset Recovery Solutions.The # the leave is not for Asset Recovery Solutions. This has to be a scam of some sort. I have put them on my blocked list for my phone,I suggest everyone else do the same.

For those who are getting upset because the company is calling other people they know (mom, dad, sister, brother), please be aware how the system works.

Asset Recovery Solutions (ARS) is a debt recovery/collection agency.  The debt could be anything from a phone bill you didn't pay to a private student loan in default.  With certain debts they shouldn't need to call anyone else and, in doing so, are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  For example, if you opened an account by yourself (no co-signer) for cell phone service through AT&T this company - nor any company, for that matter - has a right to contact anyone else you know.  That would be breaking the law. However, if you received a private student loan through let's say Sallie Mae you may have needed a co-signer.  In needing a co-signer the collection company can now do what's called a skip trace.  This means they can contact former neighbors, relatives and friends in an attempt to track down the debt.  The skip trace itself is - IS - legal.  However, the companies often misrepresent themselves or their intent in tracking someone down.  This however is NOT legal.  

One other point to note:  a debt recovery agent CAN contact you at your place of employment.  But, when you advise them they can no longer do that (for whatever reason you choose to give) you've eliminated for them a viable means to contact you.  In doing so, they'll likely employ other means to contact you (the aforementioned calls to neighbors, friends, etc.)  It's a catch 22.  The rights you have as a debtor is when they can call (not before 8am or after 9pm local time) and how they can speak to you (they can't threaten you with things they have no intent of following through on such as a wage garnishment.)  I would also request a certified copy of the debt.  In some cases (generally when a debt has been passed to multiple companies through the years) the actual certified debt gets lost.  For example, you owe Sallie Mae $10,000 on a private loan.  You can't pay so it goes to SLM's in-house collection team.  Over the next several years it may get bounced around to a half dozen companies.  While the previous company SHOULD submit the relevant paperwork as it relates to passing on the debt to a new collection agency this sometimes doesn't happen.  Take a crack at tripping them up by asking for the information you need but keep in mind that once you do you're certifying the debt as valid.

I got a call from Mr. Benjamin from ARS asking for me by my first name (not SpaceCadet!)  I would not verify who I was before he told me what ARS was, and he refused to tell me.  I am going to block the number.

Got a call this morning at work from 847-257-8336.  They have called my work before and i have told them straight out they cannot call me at work.  This continues to happen.  This is ridiculous that they have tired to contact me at work.  I don't answer these calls on my cell and was forced to answer at work since we have customers that call from all over the country.

I get calls twice a day from this outfit.  I tell them I don't know the person they are looking for and they have never been at this number.  They get extremely rude, hang up and call again later.

Hi

I just recieved a call on my cell with no message and they called the front desk at work and told them they would take it up with HR because they were transfered to a voicemail

Months  ago they contacted me and I requested back up on the loan they said I have and its been 6 months and I never got anything and now they are startingto call again

What  can I do? Can they go after my wages, my bank acct? There wrong about me haing any outstanding bill

They call nonstop. If they were ligit I would think they would leave a message. but NEVER do.. I'M tired of having scammers too calling non stop. IF U ARE A REAL COMPANY, LEAVE A MESSAGE OTHERWISE *BLOCKING!!*

As it was suggested to me - Dispute it through the credit bureaus... They then HAVE to prove it's your personal debit and how much it's for or remove it completely.  I was also told to dispute it twice if you don't get very far the first time and it will almost definitely be removed.  If they can't absolutely prove it then they have to remove it from your records... by law!

The caller is asking for someone I know to be a university student, and the student's mother.  I have no idea how my name/number was brought into the situation...have never co-signed a loan...only provided verification of employment so the student could qualify for food stamps.  Is that why I'm being contacted...because my name was on the employment verification letter?

I haven’t paid any attention at all. Simply, I erased the phone from mail voice mail box. Later, they started saying only “Thank you”, and hanged out. I called my phone provider to block these calls, but I don’t know what happened that they continued calling.
Today, they used another method; they started leaving a message, saying: They said a name that I couldn't catch. Then, they said that I should have to hang out the phone, for not to listen the message, if I was not the person they were calling to. Listen to that, (maybe they were tricking me indeed) I pushed the buttons “Talk” and immediately “OFF”, but certainly the whole message was left. They said that they were a debt collector, and that they are trying to collect a debt. Off course, Thanks God, I’m very responsible with my money. I don’t have any debts. I don’t try to consume more things than those I can afford.
I don’t know who this people are, as they didn't identify themselves, but off course, I would like to know, if something can be done with this kind of people, that don’t want to have a real work.

These calls are harassment. I wants these to stop! They do not leave a message but nonetheless annoying. The comments above did their homework. Thanks.
