Just got a call while at work on my cell.  No message was left and haven't called back yet.

I just got a call from 847-783-8945.  I called them back and someone answered as AIU online.  It is an online university so apparently we've either filled out a contact form for them or they got our number from someone we filled out a contact form with expressing interest in online study.  I know I have been looking at online masters degree programs so that is probably where they got the number.

I really wish they'd send info by mail which you can really evaluate like in the old days instead of having telemarketers call to try to convince you to attend their school.

Calling 30-40 times per day

Just got a call on my cell but no message. I dont really agree with them trying to call me. All I really wanted was the free info via mail. That way I can make a choice without somebody hounding me on my phone.

Just got a call on my cell phone while I'm at work.  No message was left and I haven't called back yet, BUT I see from other notes here that some have mentioned an AIU number.  This makes sense, I recently requested info. from an online University.

Got the same kind of call from the same number. They call 4 or 5 times day and always when I am at work.

I'm with you Jeff. I really don't want to talk to a telemarketer. I too signed up for information regarding on line degree programs and have been bombarded with calls from the same number. They have you in a bind because you can't proceed with signing up for information without supplying a phone number.

Call me old fashioned, but I would rather get my info by mail, read and evaluate it and make a decision ON MY OWN. I don't want or need anyone to hype me up about their school. I'm obviously hyped enough to even request information.

I got the call for about two weeks now.  my phone usually rings around 9 AM, but I don't pick it up.

I keep getting calls, the times and numbers vary, but they are from the same area code. I only found out about this blog by searching for the phone number  because they never leave messages. I had talked to someone, found out it was a survey and hung up. They tried to call back later and since then the phone calls started.

The first number showed up as 272-148-64840, and I am pretty sure it was an outsorced call from India. Since then I get calls at all hours of the day..usually around 5-6 and 10-11.

Hope someone reading can do something about these companies!

I requested info from AIU and 30 seconds after I hit submit online, my phone started ringing. I did a search for the number, because they didn't leave a message and that's how I found this. I hope they don't start calling all the time, I just want the info via mail.

Crap, I thought they would send info on their on-line degrees

I too requested to be MAILED info on AIU & have been getting at LEAST 3-5 calls a day; morning, nooon, & night. Is ANNOYING!! Had I known that requesting some more info via the mail would result in this many PHONE calls, I wouldn't have asked!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

glad to see i'm not the only one who is totally annoyed by this number.  i get calls 2-3 times a day.  I too requested info online but had i known i was going to be bombarded with phone calls everyday, i would not have bothered.  it's a shame they can't just give you the information you ask for without having to hassle you.

I also am looking at returning to school and did the online-school investigation route. However, I've been using Grand Central - a free Google product:

and have created some customized announcements for a bunch of those telemarketers. I send the call straight to voice mail and they still don't leave messages.

I made the mistake of filling out a request for an on-line college degree program and now I am bombarded with daily phone calls on my work cell.  Sometimes I can't answer and they NEVER leave a message.  When I call them the VM  message is incomplete. I did follow through and asked the sales representative to take my number of their Marketing Department's list.  Hopefully the calls will stop.

i just got a call from this # while i was sleepping. i don't know how can they get my phone# and my name. they just my a few question such as what kind of degree you want to take? do you still in high school? when do you graduate? ...than they want tranfer i'm to someone but they so busy than she told me she will get appoinment for me they will call me back in 48 hr. i don't know why they call me and what this call for.

This is so ridiculous!  I don't answer the phone when i see the number pop up.   Thankfully the phone calls are getting fewer in the past few day, so hopefully they will just stop all together.

yeah i was wondering why this number was calling me, but now it makes since i did fill out a online-interest in courses form.

But i am with you on this one, I too have grandcentral and now this number goes straight to voicemail.
