This number just called me, caller ID said "Name Unavailabl". I did not pick up, and no message was left. Upon googling, I found that the area code is in the Dominican Republic.

Just received a call from this number.  Caller had a thick accent and told me he was a representative from some tech company I'd never heard of, said there was someone hacking my computer and he needed access to fix it.

They called my business phone. It seems to be from a call center with noise in the background--or they want you to think it is a call center so will think they are legit. They want access to my computer.

Just received a call from this number 849-127-8459 (Dominican Republic) Didn't answer and no message was left. I am in Kansas receiving this call.

Called my dumb phone, set phone to not ring for this number.

Just got a call from this number. Same thing as everyone else is saying, thick accent, background noise like in a call center. Said that they worked for Microsoft and that someone was hacking my computer. I told them that I haven't had a Windows computer for about 2-3 years now. They said it was my Mac computer that was hacked. I also don't have a Mac. I have a Chromebook. I said that i don't think they are actually from Microsoft and they hung up.

Same as other reports. Attempts to get your personal information and gain access to your Windows PC in order to install Virus.Place caller on blocked list or do not answer !

Number blocked with a Dominican Republic area code.  That is a big clue that it is a scam.  Do not unknown phone numbers, but let the answering machine pick up.

I just answered a call from this number - I'm in south Kansas City. There was no caller ID name but number 849-127-8459 showed up. Lots of background noise. I immediately knew when they said that two of our computers was accessing the DVD drive at the same time and the computers were being hacked that something was up. I NEVER give out ANY info over the phone and I never answer the phone but this number has called over and over again and I wanted to stop them. So I asked them what the name of their company was. They didn't want to answer what company they were from. I said we were on the "No Call List" - she (thick accent) didn't even know what that means!  I said how did you get our phone number???? Then she wanted access to our computer and I said ABSOLUTELY not, no way in Hell ! She said some hackers were trying to access it. I then set the trap and said so who is our internet provider? You should have that info if this is legit. (Not, but I wanted to trip her up!) She stammered and said Windows 10. I screamed at her " YOU are the hackers and this is a scam. I'm reporting you." Then I hung up.

I just reported them to "No Call List" and copied the above comments on my complaint.

There are no phone exchanges in ANY area code that being with "1".  That means any exchange from "100" to "199" are bogus.

Do NOT pick up this call.  Only CROOKS use fake phone numbers.

They just called me , had me believing it fir a min , then jsut the way the fuy was actung started to seem fishy , and he wanted me to download a program "team viewer" to my computer  and join a remote control session,  I told him i needed to go and hung up ..
Then I Googled the # and seen this , glad I didnt download anything. ..
