- Karen| 1 replygot a call from this phone number 6/3/08. Went into it and hit "1" for a live person. Credit card scam. Told them I am tired of getting these type phone calls. Person on the other end send your "lender" gave.... I told her I have NO LENDER and I am tired of getting these phone calls. From Maine to Florida. She replied "You hit #1, I cannot delete your phone number. You have to hit #2". Bla bla bla. I told her I wanted her supervisor. Of course she did not do that.

- WorkingAtHomeGot the call about lower interest rates on my CC. I owe nothing so that is difficult to do. When I asked to take me off their list, the rep hung up. If you dial back the No., the msg says the number is disconnected.

- MeganI received a call from 850-438-3174. Usually when they call I am not home, but this time I was. I pressed #1 to get a person, and he told me my "lender" from my Visa/Mastercard gave them my number. I asked who from VISA, and he just said a lender. I told him to take my number off their list, and he hung up on me. I have gotten these before and I even sent a report to the FCC. They still haven't stopped.
- DianeGot a call from 1-850-438-3174. they left no message. But when I tried to call that number, it is listed as disconnected.

- TMThe number showing up on your Caller ID is a fake number placed there illegally by the company responsible for these calls in ord4er to make it meaningless to report to the authorities (and also why you can not call the number back). They also add an extra digit or two or a fake name, like "David Smith", for the same reason. They rotate these numbers weekly, sometimes daily. Also, they will never give you any information about their real company identity (name, address, phone and fax numbers, etc.) until AFTER you have given them your credit card info (which is another one of the many laws they are breaking) so they can zap a $900+ charge to your card.
The Florida-based company responsible is either American Debt Negotiators (using their call-center company PHL Inc.) and/or IXE Accelerated Financial Services. Thousands of complaints have been posted on dozens of internet site over the past year about these two Florida-based scam companies. Just Google their names and see for yourself. You can also go to www.heatherwithaccountservices.com for a lot of good information on who they are and what you can do to help stop them.- Caller: American Debt Negotiators

- JutsyI received a call at 12:30pm today. The answering machine took the call: it was in regards to warranty services on an automobile.
The caller ID was: William Hundemer
I am on the do not call registry - TM| 1 replyIt has been inferred that the same company making the car warranty calls is making the credit-card interest rate calls (the infamous "Heather" scam). This make sense because both categories of scam calls use the same illegal spoof-the victims-Caller-ID trick, use the same pool of spoofed numbers, employ the same illegal tactics of requestion personal info (credit card number, SS #,, vehicle make, model, year and VIN information, etc.) befpre they tell you who they really are (IF they ever tell you the truth at all).
Tips:
Dont' give out any personal info at all.
Take notes about who they say they are, as they often slip up and give out bits of usefull information that can be pieced together for authorities to use in presecuting these criminals.
Always report the call to your state's Attorney's General office, the FCC, DNC and the FTC at least, but DO NOT file the complaint using the faked Caller ID info as it is meaningless to the authorities. To get information about the two most likely culprits behind these illegal calls (ADN/PHL and IXE) and the links for filing online complaints, the anti-scam web site heatherwithaccoutservices.com has the information you need.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Razzle| 1 replyFirst of all, just becuase you are on the Do Not Call list does not mean you will not get calls from people you already do busniess with.
But this is ridiculous. I get calls from this number all the time, but never acutally get through to anyone. I tried to call the number back, but it is disconnected. Companies like this one give goor reputable telemarketing companies a bad name. I work for one that calls existing business cusromers and we handle inboud calls. This company is in total violation of the law! - Fone BillNo details
- TelemarketerHaterScrew you Jonathan from account services! Karma will rot the souls of you and/or anyone you care about. Remember this when something bad happens to you. You are lower than scum!
- TMThe criminal telemarketing companies behind these calls are either American Debt Negotiators (using their call-center company, PHL, Inc.) or IXE Accelerated Financial Services (one or both are running the credit-card interest rate scam and the extended auto-warranty scam).
As posted in earlier threads, they illegally use a computerized auto-dialer to repeatedly call all known phone numbers in the US (even ones on the DNC list), illegally place false information on your Caller ID and commit several other violations of various state and federal laws with each and every call.

- AnonymGot a call from this #850-438-3174 and am on the Do Not Call Registry. I'm sick of getting these type of calls. I guess the # is out of FLA.
- VJThis # appeared on caller id - say my auto warranty about to expire - comes in with other #'s also. If you talk to them to get info - they hang up when you want facts - press 9 to no longer get calls - they just use another #
Call the # back and it's been disconnected????- Caller: warranty scam

- ChrisDid not pick up the phone. I am on the do not call list this should not have come in.

- Jamieautomated call; partial message on answering machine referred to "reducing your rates" & said this was my final notice
- Caller: Florida
- RobbyGet a call frequently from this and other numbers with regards to the same thing. Instead of trying to stop them, which we can't do, why not go after the phone company who is giving them the right to do this. Do these numbers not have to be set up through a phone company, and if the phone company starts to be held responsible for issuing numbers to scammers, maybe there wouldn't be so many. I know if I make harrassing calls from my number I would probably end up in trouble, why not the phone company? They claim innocence when they're getting money for handing the numbers out.
