Legitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process.  They will deliver the notification without warning.

(Here is more info than you really need on process serving:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_of_proce ... nited_States.29 )

Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
    http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam

"The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."

"Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court."

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I've had enough of these calls! The caller ID said "Emergency call" 911 with the same poppycock saying there is an arrest warrant against my name and Social Security number, blah blah blah. I am to call the State of Florida attorney Sam Bolton at 850-725-7078. I live in Pennsylvania. It also said if I don't call within 30 minutes I will be prosecuted by the Oakland county sherriff. There is no Oakland county in Pennsylvania! and why would state attorney from florida come all the way to Pennsylvania to arrest someone? I'm tired of this B.S.!!!

I too received a number of these calls from an "UNKNOWN" number and an "UNKNOWN" location from someone with a thick foreign accent stating as above. I have contacted Law Enforcement, US Attorney"s and the appropriate federal agencies. All those efforts have not stopped these calls. In fact, by them changing their tactic one cannot even block these calls( they used to call from a number that showed up on caller ID).
I guess we are going to have to endure these calls until those idiots call on a classified number with the NSA and they will locate and stop them.

I received a 911 call on my cell when I answered it was from a guy saying he was trooper (unsure if the name he used) and he was advising me to call attorney Sam Wilson and said an arrest warrant has been issued for me and unless I respond within 30 minutes I will be arrested. Out of curiosity I called the number and it just went to a voice mail saying this is attorney Sam Wilson, I hung up

I also received a call from "911 Emergency Call". And all of this time I thought that a person calls 911 for an emergency.  Who would have thought that 911 would call me!

Anyway, the VM message stated that I need to call Attorney General Sam Olson, or Wilson within 30 minutes, and if I failed to do this, I would be arrested by some county sheriff. I had a hard time understanding the gentleman since his accent is so thick.

Anyway, I think I'll contact Pensacola Attorney General to report this scam, as well as the FBI to report this scam.

Great system though: They warn you ahead of time that you will be arrested that evening. I'm sure those who received this message just sat at home, patiently waiting for the Sheriff.

I am sick and tired of these calls and I am going to start keeping track of all the names and numbers.  I have not spoken with any of them in person but if I do I tell you they will regret talking to me.
