Received call at 4:47 PM PST  on 11-20-2013

Another Microsoft Indian scammer.  Same old script telling me he has "been receiving messages of bad things downloaded to my computer"-- that sort of stuff.  Shut him down quick.   Told him I knew it was part of a scam and told him he wouldn't get one Rupee from me!

I just received  a call from this number (855-210-3300), Indian accented man, claiming to be Microsoft Tech Support and if I would go and turn on my computer he could help me resolve error messages my computer had sent them!  This is the third call I have gotten in as many days.  I can't imagine anyone complying with his request.  It just sounds too suspicious...........  

Same exact thing just happened to me 5 minutes ago.
I told him to go pound sand.

So i received a phone call from an Indian sounding representative from "MircoTech", named Patrick, called me to tell me he received notices saying that my computer had downloaded malicious software (He would not be anymore specific) and that his team received a notification. He then proceeded to ask me if i ran windows on my computer (seriously?? you claim to have info from me but not know my operating system?) I decided to play along anyway. He proceeded to walk me through steps on my computer ( which i followed mentally)  until i was looking at a bunch of files. he proceeded to try and convince me that they were all corrupted and that the only solution was to pay him to fix it.     Holding back my laughter, I started questioning him about his company and why mircotech and not microsoft was receiving my alerts. his reply was silence and then to reread part of his script that in no way fit the situation. He asked me if I was wasting his time to which i replied "are you wasting mine?" he hung up.... But don't worry I called back... 4 more times. each time i called him he read the same script as though he called me. he even introduced him self as roger once but changed it back mid description. I asked him if he would quite calling my house, and he replied with a deflated "...yes" . I said my final good bye to Patrick and he hung up on my. And that was the last i spoke with my new friend, i miss him everyday but i know that he has bigger and better thing to do and more people's money to steal. Goodby Patrick. Your friend, -Stephen.

Same call as the others. I keep a whistle by the phone and I'm not afraid to use it!!!!

Called twice yesterday and three times today.  Listened to him and told him that he was a hack and that I was going to report him as we are also on the do not call list.  Yesterday it was a women - today it was Patrick (from Washington, DC).  I asked him what company he worked for an it was Microtech and that they were affilitated with Microsoft.  I then asked him where Microsoft was located -- he didn't know.  

I feel sorry for the people that get duped with this scam.  

Just got the same call as above from the same East Indian voice, from Mincro Tech, said I had a virus, was working for Microsoft.

Got same thing a few minutes ago.  Could hardly hear him.  Told him "not interested" and hung up the phone.

I kept "tech" on the phone for 20 min, he said he was in Houston, I told him anyone can have a website say anything he said his company also has and office in Jupiter Fl, he tried to tell me the .inf were error files and I did not need them!?! uh huh then he tried to get me to go to showmypc.com I said what would you do when I got there? he would fix my pc of cource

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

I just received the call from them.  This is crazy.

Another scam call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft.  Same old script.  Strong Indian accent and I was going to play around with him but I shut him down quick by telling him I didn't have a Microsoft windows  but I had a Linux System using Ubuntu.   They guy acted surprised.  Total jerk.  

Got the call this morning informing me my windows computers have malware.   I love these calls.   Hysterical since we don't have a windows computer, not a single windows machine in the house.    I pity the folks that fall prey to these criminals.

I asked how hey new my phone number etc. I hang up and call the number (18552103300) and asked to be removed from any list (I'm on the do not call list). The guy (with heavy India accent asked me to speak proper English (I'm a Dutch immigrant). Funny, that guy had a very heavy Indian accent. He became obnoxious and I asked for a 'supervisor' to remove me from any list. That 'supervisor' called me continuously a '[***]' this and a '[***]' that (obviously he thinks that all Dutch people are Afro Americans). I am SO glad I hang up the first time and didn't opened sharing programs (AMMYY).

There are so many red flags: how do they know my phone number, why do thy ignore that I have Norton 360, have the strongest protection (internet, that is ;-) etc.
Wat hysterical in the beginning, but having racial slur is criminal. May they rot in hell!

As noted, this is the scam where they tell you your computer has problems.  Caller was from India. I told him I was already aware of the scam and not to call back.  He called back 5 minutes later and started berating me.  The number is now auto forwarded to a fake charity scam number that called me a week ago.  Hope they enjoy chatting.

Wow, just got my second call from them this week. Told them first time to take me off call list, then when I got second call I told him there was no way I trusted he was legit. Then he went into a creepy story about how he knew my address and was going to send Santa Claus over on Christmas to give me a nice present. This is really over the top and I told him I would call the police if they called again. Wow!

I love your solution of forwarding his call. I have to find out how to do that!

Guy with indian accent called from Microtec Support named Jack Daniels said my computer was sending error message indicating that someone was downloading malware on my computer. He was not trying to sell me anything just wanted to advise that I should go to Best Buy Geek Squad or something to get computer checked out. He asked me to confirm my name--which I did not and he asked to confirm what state i lived in---which I did not. He claimed to have gotten my information fro and "interface in the public domain." i asked to speak to his supervisor who also had an Indian accent and was named Jacob Jones. I asked if they were in Mumbai and he said no, Houston Texas. This all happened on the heals of getting a friend request on Facebook from an already existing friend---but I accepted anyways and then shortly thereafter starting getting a chat asking if I had gotten the good news about getting $100,000 through Facebook. I immediately defriended the person but wondering if there is a connection to the Microtec phone call i received seconds later.

Probably just a coincidence on that. But for sure, make sure you private info isn't public. There's many way's to get your info  Google your name and number and remove anything that shows up like spokeo etc.
And he lied, there's no way they can tell anything is going on or not with your computer. You would literally have to give them access and that is something one should never do!

Got another call from some India sounding man. Strong accent could barely understand him.
He said my computer is downloading malware and sending virus'. I told him I didn't believe he was a legitimate business. He said I could "check him out on the computer" just go to MicroTech.com. LOL this was the second call I received from these people but this was a different number than the call I got yesterday. What a scam...
