Somebody called me from "the bank"

what bank please I have difrent story

Bank is td Canada Trust.  I talked to my local branch about it and easyline telephone banking and mt tdCT Visa about it.  No one so far knows what this department is... But whoever it is has the power to freeze my accounts and cancel my Visa.

After being on the phone for 30 min I learned the department is the External Inquiry Department.  They are also the Global Anti-money Laundering Group.  

As of today (1/26/12) Alexandrea Andreu is the department manager.

Alexandra Andreu's direct number is 416-983-0316.  Other department contacts are Marie Curtin (sp?) and Vince Oleta (sp?).  They can be reached through the Toronto main switch board at 416-982-8222.

Received a IT Technical Scam Call - including repeated harassing calls.  Beware of this number!!!!

repeated calls one after the other to try and get me to do something to my computer due to virus'. Kept asking why I hung up. He said he was from a tech support and if I didn't do it, they would shut off all my services.

They keep calling saying they are getting reports from my computer!!! BS--- this a phishing scam, I'm sure of it!!!  They keep calling.

Called saying I had a computer problem,I said we didn't and kept calling me back,It is a SCAM!!

This number has called me many times telling me I have a virus on my computer. I say what computer this man with a heavy accent says the computer in your house I am with Windows I said nope not my house he said YES very angrily and said I am on my computer right now. WHo are these people and why do they try to scare me about virus on my computer and how did they get my private number?

Ray was here in 2011 and will not see you post.  Ray reported a banking scam.  If that is the call you got,
call your bank using a phone number you know is good.  Like the number on the back of your debit/credit card.  I think you find you are not frozen.

If you got a call about your computer being frozen, this is  one of the MS Windows scams. They can only freeze your computer if you have gone on to a web site and and given them access.  In that case, you have a very big problem.  You will need to have your computer looked over to get the malware that was installed removed, and you will want to change the passwords for ALL your banking and any other financial transactions, bill playing, Email and Social Media.  ID Theft is a horrible experience.

If you got a pop-up message about your computer being frozen, that is mostly an irritation and easily fixed.

I left message at 18552108310 a guy called me back said hed unfreeze my account i had 35 days to close this account they didnt want me as a customer when i asked wouldnt tell me why

My acct was frozen card declined my branch said to call a number that was on my file 18552108310 i did 4 times a guy called back said hed unfreeze it and i had 35 days to find another bank to deal with he would not tell me why i went to machine and my card actually worked this is weird how and why did canada trust freeze my account and then unfreeze it and tell me to switch banks

You should call your bank at a known phone number - not this one! - and ask a supervisor to explain this.

Just had the same thing happen. Made a deposit and account immediately froze. Went to branch and phoned and they would tell me is to call this number. Im waiting on them to return my call

What ended up happening. I've been waiting since Nov 3
