United Recovery Systems is a, wait for it, debt collection agency.  Look 'em up.

This is United Recovery Systems, a debt collector for American Express.

This number has called me for weeks now and every time I answer the phone they hang up or if I let it go to voicemail no message is left.  I have never had an American express card so this number gets a big ol BLOCK!  What a joke

Number appeared on my cell phone.  I called, gave them the number, and when they asked for my name I refused.  I said You called my number, either you know my name or it was an error.  Again 'Give me your name so I can look you up" I said look up the phone number and say what you were going to say when you called me.  Had I answered, I wouldn't have given you my name.  Would you call an unknown number on your phone and just start handing out info?  She said no.  I'm sorry we bothered you.

PITA.  And, a) I have no outstanding bills  b) my  phone number is not the number used for any accounts if I did owe money.

I have gotten calls from this number repeatedly over the last couple of weeks. When I answer the phone there is no on there. I called the number back and got a recording asking me to hold for the next available representative. When the rep. picked up the call he said, "Citi Card, may I have your card number" If this was AMEX as stated above attempting to collect a debt, then the company used failed to follow the law: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/5-illegal-tactics-used-by-shady-debt-collectors/   " Debt collectors have to identify themselves and who they work for. But a common tactic among the shadiest outfits is to pose as government employees (including the police), lawyers and others for the purpose of intimidation."  When I told the rep. that I would not give him my card number he was very polite and asked me how what I would like him to do. I told him that this number was a business number and please put me on their internal Do Not Call list. He was very polite about it which was refreshing. However, I still think that it is some sort of scam. And it definitely WAS NOT AMEX, as he said our number was not even in their system. Be careful who you give your information to!

Started saying is a recorded message and ask for me by my first name, asked who's calling, a woman by last name aWilliams and I hung up, another scamner

I missed the call from this number, no voicemail and no call back...location says Unknown

Asked for my social security number and other personal information.  I refused! She would not give me reason for call other than a financial opportunity.

this number called for my wife using her middle name at my parents house. They will be reported. Caller left a name then hung up.

Didn't answer, saw comments here, blocked

They say they are a debit collector for American Express, but they keep asking for some one I have never heard of and won't quit calling.

Called cell phone rang once and then stopped

It is a debt collector. You may not want to ignore. They work with AmEx and they successfully put me in good standing with AmEx and they offered me another chance with a new AmEx credit card. Only complain i have is that they call 5 times a day.

If you don't owe any debts to them, then you CAN ignore them or tell them to send you proof of the debt.
