Hate it when a toll free number calls and no one on other end.

Drives me crazy-how can I get them to stop calling more than once a day.

remove me from your call list...DO NOT CALL!

This discussion board does not have a list nor does any calls come from it.  You need to contact your called for that service.

The "uncleanly illigitimates" called yesterday.The only solution seems to be to just discontinue phone serv ice altogether.  When the phone companies wonder why they are losing customers, maybe they'll do something.

Discontinue phone service.   Maybe when enough of us do this and the phone companies see they are losing customers, maybe they will do something about these "uncleanly illigitimates!"
(At present they don't seem to care - or are just overwhelmed)
My mistake about 10 years ago was receiving my first solicitor, and just donated $20 just to get rid of him.
Shortly after, the phone was ringing off the wall.   They say they don't share info with others - yeah, right.

What I have heard,  and who knows if it is true,  is that if these scammers can get someone to pay once,  they figure they can do it over and over until they catch on.  So,  I think if they get you for 20 bucks,  they will contact you again in the future with another scam.

I have had three calls within the past couple days with this number and one with different last four digits.  I am on the Do Not Call LIst so wonder how they are getting through.

Annie,  the Do not Call Registry   does not block unwanted calls for those who are listed.  It merely serves as a list of people who don't want to be telemarketed.   There is nothing mechanical or magic about the DNC.  It will only stop those companies who abide by the law.  Those who do not,  will be the ones calling you.

this is an obvious scam - called asking for an unknown 3rd party - says American Diabettes foundation!  what BS!!

That is BS. I've dealt with the American Diabetes Foundation several times over the last few years. They don't play any games like that. They will answer and let you know what they want. When I get calls from this number, they either hang up before I answer or hang up after I've said "Hello".

Same thing just happened to me-- I answered and nothing --then they hung up---so  if it is one of those machines that log in the time you answered I can expect another call tomorrow at the same time as this morning---idiots is all I can say.

It's unbelievable there is no way to stop these calls!

FOURTH Unwanted, Unsolicited call TODAY from as many DIFFERENT numbers.  Ignoring them and letting answering machine pick up doesn't make them stop.  Picking up/hanging up without answering doesn't make them stop.  TELLING them to stop doesn't make them stop.  FILING A COMPLAINT with the DNC list seems to make them INCREASE.  SO SICK of this!

These aren't 'telemarketers' these are SCAMMERS and there should be a category for that, 800 Notes.

I got this and another similar several times a day and during the week. When I called it back it answers with an auto message as the American Diabetes Association and gives you the option to be removed from their calling list. I used the prompts to do that for each number.

Caller ID says UNAVAILABLE; no voicemail left.

My cellphone has a "block" feature, but my landline doesn't. Maybe it's time to move all of my phone service to the provider that actually gives me a good way to deal with these scammers.
