I received a call at work from 855-247-5184, nationwide document server, Denise.She wanted the procedures for serving documents at our work place. I asked her who she was looking for and it happened tp be me. I asked her what itw as in regard to and she said she couldn't tell me.I asked the name of the company that  I supposedly owed money to. She wouldn't tell me why  or what but said the company was CLG and I should give them my case number and they would explain. I called 855-247-5184 and of course Denise answered the phone and put me on hold and never came back. While I was on hold "denise" left a message with the same info on my cell phone I contacted the FTC and filed a complaint.  I also contacted a lawyer and they believe this is a scam. I am tired of these phone calls, If I have a debt out there that I am  unaware of why can't these people just send you documentation???

I received the the same call claiming they where an agency  (debt collecters) collecting from Best Buy. She was actually kinda nice not rude at all but couldn't help me in the situation I was in. And this was 7 years ago.

I also received a call from Lauren Stevens at Nationwide Document Server saying it was their first attempt to serve us with legal documents.  we would be given 3 chances and after the 3rd chance we would be considered "Failure To Serve".  The message gave me this number (855-247-5184) and was told to contact our case worker at CLG and was given a case number.  I called the number and spoke with a Victoria.  She was very polite and spoke very good English and professional.  There was no sort of accent what-so-ever.  I was told I had a debt from from 2010 that needed to be settled today or they would not be able to stop legal action.  I asked her to send me the information about the creditor and she emailed me a very detailed, legal looking, settlement offer.  When Google Street Viewing the address for the law firm it shows a Mailing Center in Corona, CA.  Every phone number referenced on the letter comes up as a VOIP number.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

I suspect this is a full on scam since i am seeing the name Lauren Stevens from Nationwide Document Servers listed on many phone numbers but no one seems to be able to say its legitimate.  I do not believe this is a valid debt.  I will wait for my snailmailed copy of this letter (not holding my breath), then I will start investigating with the original creditor.

My husband and I have been receiving phone calls from this number 855 247 5184. I originally answer the first call that came to my phone and a male caller was asking for my step father and he does not live with us. I immediately had told them that the number he had dial was my cell number and he stated he wanted to leave a message with my step father. So I proceeded to write down the message and mind you I was half asleep. So I got a hold of my step father and gave him the message.  This was on 3/12/15 and then today they called my husband and my phone just to get a hold of my step father. My question is how the hell did they get our number??????? My step father never gave them our numbers. And I just found out an hour ago that they are harrassing my brother as well. I called them back after they left a message on my husband phone. I talk to a woman named Victoria who had initially spoken to my step father earlier and left an extention number for my step father to call her back. I asked why they are calling my husband and my phone to harrass us about our step father and she immediately became offended and said why am I yelling at her and that I need to calm down and stop causing at her. Okay first of I wasn't yelling at her, and my voice got louder because she was rudely talking over me when I wasn't done asking her my question.  And then she hung the phone up on me. I called back and she answer the phone and I ask if I could talk to someone of seniority and she rudely said that she was the one in charge and that she cannot help me because I was using profanity and then she hung up again. I'm very fraustrated at these people and the constant harrasment that we're getting from them.

Sorry I forgot to mention in my recent comment that when my step father spoke with them the first time they identify themselves to my father as the States Attorney Office.

Got a message this morning out of the blue on my phone and my husbands phone from Lauren Stevens.  Same threat, saying she is dispatching a process server to our home and place of employment to serve my husband with legal documents and he had 2 hrs to call CMG and reference the case no given. He returned the call where she proceeded to tell him that he owes a debt to Wells Fargo.   Couldn't give any info on the account and even made the comment Wells Fargo would have no records of this since it has come to them.  My husband did have an d acct we found out about the first of 2014 but it was paid off and relieved. Thank goodness I kept all my records!!!!  Beware!!!!
