The call is from Conserve who say they are contracted by the US Dept of Education for payment on student loans.

They are the default company for federal student loans. The put you on a payment plan to get you out of default

They keep calling me and do not anything when I aswer the call. When I call back, no one aswers.

They call me on my cell and at work and I don't appreciate it.

I do not owe any student loans! So Why they are calling me, Is a mystery!

The woman said she was calling to do an employment verification. I told her the boss was with a client and if I could have him call back, but she was insistent in calling back later.

They cannot be legitimate.  I got a call from this number and I finished college 45 years ago without incurring any student loan.

The number is from ConServ, a debt collector contracted by the US Dept of Education. They literally try to rob you if there is an outstanding student loan.

A woman wanted to speak to me... she asked for my bday. I told her I wouldn't give it to her because I have no idea who she is... she wouldn't give me any information until I gave her my bday. I said I would give her my birthday until I get more information.... a little odd in my book.

I am reluctant to post too much info on this page because I think debt collectors use to see if WE are checking phone numbers....like just the fact that a person HAS a student loan could trigger getting on another call list. maybe I will ditch my phone and computer and go snail mail only

First clue this is a bogus caller is the 1040 number. Second clue is left no message. Most importantly IRS do not make phone calls.
Thanks to this web site and people reporting bogus callers, I did not even answer.

They called yesterday saying it was my bank then proceeded to ask red flag questions that my bank wouldn't. I asked, well if you have my # then you have the info. I flat out told her I don't feel comfortable with this call.
