If it was by western union, green dot or similar type of untraceable means, you have been scammed! all red flags.If you used a CC or DC the you will need to file fraud as well as closing your account to a new one.. By law they are supposed to send a initial dunning letter within 5 days of first call. No letter, no money! The burden of proof is on them to supply debt validation.
Neither phone,fax,text or email are valid proof if a debt owed.
Make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
