The message is clearly a phishing scam.

I just got a text message with the following:

I just got one too:

1-866-803-5786 was my number though.

Phishing scam same as J. B. above.  Came as text message on my T-Mobil cell on 7/23/2011.
Same message on 7/24/2011 from 888-879-5987.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! They have been harrassing my employer and family with threatening messages. They have called about 20 times today back to back. They use a local phone number and then leave messages to call a 855-254-989.1 I do not owe anyone money. These people are trying to get personal information and use it to their advantage. Don't fall for their scheme!

I have received calls from 817-916-8187 looking for an ex daughter in law who I no longer have contact with.  It seems she gave my number on an application.  Well, they tell me to call this 855 number and give me a case number and I ask them to please leave me alone.  They don't.  They call me a liar and continue to call me by the ex dil's name.  They always say this is the final notice!  I WISH!  I'm tired of it and wish there was something I could do.

Today 10/31/12 Hallween Day...... Is this a joke for Trick or Treaters??? WTF!! The #855-254-9891 called my FAMILY AT 2AM LIKE 10 TIMES IN A ROW ASKING FOR ME & MY WIFE!! This is not your ordinary collections people because they know that they have regular business hours to call between!!! The kept calling and calling harrassing my family and wouldn't stop.... So today during the day they kept calling my wifes cell phone and my phone like 20 times each and they wouldn't stop!!!! They left a voicemail saying that i needed to call them back and that I have a judgement again me and to use a claim#......So when I called the number back they said they were Nationwide firm?? I asked them why they were calling and what did they want?? I asked them to stop calling my family and my phone number's? The guy said he didn't know of anyone calling from Nationwide....(Ya right) and he argued the fact that he was SO SURE THAT THEY DO NOT CALL PEOPLE!! So I asked over and over again to look up the claim number!!! The guy finally did after a 5 mintue debate of who they are......I finally got thru to his stupid [***] and he looked up the number and said it was in proceedings or something of that sort!!  What the hell!! I TOLD THE GUY THAT I WAS CALLING THE POLICE TO FILE A HARRASSMENT AGAINST THEM AND THAT I WAS GOING TO GIVE THEM THEIR PHONE NUMBER AS WELL!!! I don't owe anything anyone at all!! And who calls at 2AM!! Not normal people who call and harrass you!!! Since then when I called the "Nationwide Firm" now it just sends me to an automative system that just repeat's it'self!! sounds suspicious that's for sure!!! I called the police and they said to that it does sound suspicious and I had every right to report it to them and I am waiting for an office to call me or come to my home so I can tell them what happened..............don't be fooled at all and take every call serious and stand up to these SCAMMERS!!!! THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO!!!!

these pl say they are with nationwide and thet debt collectors and use private locators which in my area are using a 3426141604 cell number and then a business office of 8552549891 they will tell you your going to court and all.  They will harrass your family if needed

FREAKS say that I owe them money that they are with Nationwide a pre-ledigation firm and have some one who calls well at least in my case from 2 different numbers (the locator) a 409 which a Beaumont Texas Number and a 432 which is a West Texas Number and when you try to call the number back such as the 4326141406 you get this department of law phone number is not taking messages.  But when you call the 885 254 9891 number they talk a big talk and try to threaten you to go to court.  I look at this this way, mail me papers show me the proof then we will talk otherwise tell them to get buggarded off.
