It is some sort of a home finders or rent to own company. They have several ads on Craigslist in Nashville, TN.

Yes same here  in Ft Lauderdale and usually when it's to good to be true it usually is!!!!  They want you to join for $199 for 3 months then you can get your money back.... Hello do I have stupid written on my forehead? If the owners can't afford $800 for a house then something is really wrong. and this is PRE foreclosure, so do we then get kicked out @ full foreclosure??????????. SOMETHING FISHY HERE!!!!!

They are advertising on craigslist in the San Francisco bay area also for "preforeclosure" houses that are "rent to own".  I used google images to search for the photos they listed in their ad for a $1395/mo house.  They are from remodeling sites and a million dollar home for sale.  By the time I went back to craigslist to flag the ad, it was already removed. Definitely something fishy and dishonest.

This is really crappy that these companies can get away with this! I found this through a craigslist ad in Pittsburgh, and almost called. Except when I went back to look at the at, it was flagged for removal. I'm actually looking for a house to rent/buy and would have at least called them. Jerks

I called the number just to see if someone would even really answer! A lady answered,very unprofessionally.She started off sounding nice,yet explaining little.She tried to get me to sign up with $199 RIGHT THEN AND THERE! The moment i said "well i cant just spend this money without talking it over with my husband first"..she got mighty rude and quickly said.."when your ready,give me a call"..then she hung up on me!

i just called about a house in cudahy, wisconsin. i knew it was fake, but wanted to see what they said. the guy was nice at first, then i told him this was 2 good 2 b true and he got really [***] w/ me.  how the hell can you take over payments on a nice house w/ in 3 days w/ NO credit check?  duh.  then, the owner's make their payments and want their house back and you're on the street.  wow.  i feel bad for the people that actually fall for this.  he said to me "well, i can see that you're not interested, so i'll talk to you at another time..." and he hung up. i flagged the account, but some clueless sap will fall for this and you'll hear about it on the news.

I just called and was really excited because i have actually been looking for this for a long time.. he said they are American Scanner, his name is Jack Shepherd, from Cali. his personal # is 805-293-1702.. idk if its a scam or not.. but im going to be safe and not find out no matter how tempting it is..

Good idea, Brittany.  I was thinking the same thing but really don't think I should look into it.  Funny feeling.  Talked with the same guy...

There's something about Craigslist scams that stand out in my eyes really fast, this one was one of them. I did called to double check out of feeling guilty that I had already shared the link without digging first , like I usually do.... Adam Winfield (spell check) sticks very well to his script.... his number is 05) 698-7462.

Most of the rent to own that I've come across in many years of search, do not ask for a credit check so this much of their script is true. One thing though, most of them do ask you to clear your credit because even if you enter in an agreement with the owner, that doesn't mean the BANK is going to be all okey dokey with it (you do need some sort of loan to finish paying the house.)

My understanding is that when a house is on preforeclosure you have to pay whatever backed up fees there are so I think I"m going to check their site first, before I called them out scammers... one thing is for sure their little customer service people are not telling  everything we should know... becareful

I just this number and they want you to pay $199 upfront for a title search. Why would I pay for a title search when I have not found a house? This has to be scam. They are posting ads in CA.

I just entered them for a special "wakeup call" at an odd hour at wakeupdialer.com. Two can play at sleazy robocall services!

Yes my friend used this company the last 3 times she moved from her house in fl to montana and now wyoming.

Wow , it is a good thing I found this here , I spoke to Jack Shepherd yesterday and got so exited about the whole thing , I even did the registration part of it but then when he ask me for my card number , it was like ... Read Flag !!! So I told him I had to talk to my Husband first ,  he stayed very professional even after I said that and told me he would keep my info and if I decided I could just give him a call , in shock , I think sometimes good things can be actually possible and easy to get , but so not true . Good thing I decided to check t his phone number out first and did not gave my card # ... Ufff !!!! :/

Rental scam!!!!

Yea a guy couple weeks ago name jack Shepard called me saying I owed seven hundred dollars from a payday loan I took out. Said he was sending police to my work to a rest me. Kinda scary because he new all my info. Called police myself they called and they answers and still told them they were going to a rest me cops said you are doing ileagle acts they hung up. But I still call the same number and they still answer. They are not scared at all so I think they are not in the us. Pisses me off they are still scamming people day after day.

seems to be resurfacing in the bay area with unreal listings in marin county area.  same deal, rent-to-own at to-good-to-be-true monthly rates.  some people have too much damn time on their hands.  very frustrating for someone who is legitimately searching for a reasonable and affordable home to live in.  

This guy jack Shepard is in Maryland. Craig's list now trying to scam thanks to sites like this my $199 is still in my pocket he i using 204-210-9099 and 805-293-1702 please be aware he is A SCAMMER
