This number is part of the pay day loan collection scam linked to PDL Recovery, Progressive, and other similar companies claiming you owe a Check-N-Go or similar pay day loan. Do not talk to them, do not give out any personal information, do not verify your identity with them, even if they give you your correct SS#, and do not pay them a dime. They threaten with legal action, claim you will be sued, have wages garnished, or your driver's license suspended. They do not have this authority. They may call from a blocked number and tell you they are a locator or someone hired to serve you with a court summons and ask you to call this number back. Do not call. I have been dealing with these people for years. Not even a Cease and Desist letter has stopped them. They will call back from a different number claiming to be another collection company, another law firm, or some debt mediation company. I do not and have never owed a pay day loan. The debt they claim I owe is not on my credit reports. I have verified with Check-N-Go and other financial institutions they claim I owe. There is no record of my identity every being used to take out this kind of loan. I now simply ignore them. I have filed complaints with the FTC and save every message they leave.

What kind of "debt collector" calls and leaves a stupid message informing the WRONG person that he/she is in trouble for writing a bad check and they need to confirm his/her home address or place of work before they can serve the paperwork? Genius on their part!! I would assume that they would have done their homework and gotten all that information before making a dumb comment such as that. Let's see, raise your hand if you would be stupid enough to answer that call and give them and address? I sure wouldn't! So incredibly funny!

This number, 855-261-9687, has called me identifying herself as "Ashley Payne." Ashley, come on now, you are calling the wrong person. But your message is quite funny and full of holes. You say that there has been a formal complaint filed against this person (who had my phone number before me), but you need to verify her address or place of employment to serve the papers. Do you really think that she would actually call you to give you her address? Wake up Ashley. I've been getting these calls for nearly 2 years and you still haven't found her.

Then you give this number for her to call one last time before she is served at her job or home, as if you already know where she is. Do you see the inconsistencies here? First you say you need to verify her home address or place of employment, and then you say this: At this point it is your legal right to contact the plaintiff on your own behalf one final time before you are served at your job or your home.

Well, you can't serve her till you find her…right? And she's not calling you back…right? And calling the wrong person definitely will not find her…right? And lastly, this comment cracks me up: You have been officially notified and we will be seeing you soon.
