I called it back and it was for Chase credit card

A guy with an accent asked for me - he had my name -  and said he was calling about "an inquiry I had made recently". Bogus - I have made no such inquiries. I told him I could not talk now, and hung up.

called back to give them s..t about scam calls, got auto voice to give them info about me. Don't call back it's a waste of time, can't vent your anger to a person, phishing call.

This is a valid number. It is owned by Chase Bank in Canada who manage a number of credit cards. It is a call from their security department. If they see some unusual action on your account they may call you. Use the phone number on the back of your credit card to respond to a call: then you are sure that it is not a bogus call.

These clowns call every day and they are so annoying!!!!!!! Hate having a land line! Just BS calls

This is a legitimate number. It's Chase Bank of Canada's security department. They called to see if an online purchase that I had made with my Visa last night was made by me.

Rec'vd a call from this number: A recurring charge was going through on my Sears card and they were verifying if it was a legitimate charge... I verified later in the day with Sears Customer Service and this phone number is in fact the Chase Security Dept.  I can only hope they catch a fraudulent charge if it ever happens!!!

Got a call from this number. It is the Dispute Resolution Department for Chase Canada, and deal specifically with Sears Credit Cards or Mastercards. They were calling regarding some fraudulent charges.

This call was from Chase's Sears Mastercard Canada advising me that my card was compromised and they'd be sending me a new one.  I've had a similar situation from VISA in the past.

Legit number for Chase Mastercard security department. Called to tell me my card had been compromised & were sending out a new card & told me all my information & only verified charges on my card.

Seems legit call from Chase Marriott VISA fraud department , verifying a vendor charges in the US.

Legit number for Chase credit security.  Called to verify I was trying to make an online donation with my Amazon Visa.

It's Chase Canada calling. It's from their fraud department checking to verify a transaction. It's literally the call you get 5 minutes after you buy something online. They're just calling to see if you actually did the transaction.

Simple.

If you do not want to get these calls the DON'T ORDER ONLINE !!!!   This is you Credit Card company making sure that it was you that placed the order online  they are using Chase Bank to do the donkey work of calling You.  Stop Crying

This is a legitimate call from Chase VISA's security department to verify that a purchase made on my card yesterday was in fact made by me. (It was.) Their reason for questioning the legitimacy of the purchase was that this vendor came up on my account for the first time, and it was in a country in which I hadn't done business on this account before.

To be safe, I didn't return the call at the number he gave in his message. Instead, I called the local number on the back of my card and identified myself to the person I spoke to there, who told me that the call had indeed come from Chase's security department. He put me through to that department, where I was able to quickly verify that it was in fact I who made the purchase in question.

On the basis of this experience, I'd say this is a valuable service provided by Chase and NOT a scam call, although I'd recommend following the procedure I followed if you're concerned about your credit card security.

Stop scaring yourself - the person that called this tel number called me today and yes this was true - my Sears card was used fraudulently.
I contacted Sears customer service to check if this guy was ok and yes he was, Sears has the info on the fraud on my card and will replace it for a new one.

After reading this, I called the toll free number on the back of the card. Yes, there was a fraudulent charge made to my card. They are sending me a new card.

This is one call that I am always happy to receive. This call does indeed come from Chase Bank of Canada. They left a message on my answering machine asking me to call them back concerning my card. I called the # that is on the back of my card and they told me that my card had been compromised. So they are sending me a new card. Also this # that they left on the answering machine is they fraud and security department.  They are the greatest company to deal with as they always call if they suspect something not right with your card. So be thankful for this call if you own one of their credit cards.

The issue here is whether or not your caller is real. That is the problem. Due to caller ID spoofing (faking) you can never assume the person is who they say they are, on a call you did not make. Not sure? Look it up. Verify it. Decide on a course of action.
