Received a strange call on my answering machine stating to call them back. Whatever

Called my cell number and stated "your name and social security number has been attached to an asset and liability search request...". The message keeps going for about another minute or so. The call originates from 516-246-8147 but says to call 855-269-1425. If I don't know who you are or I don't recognize your number then I am not bothering. Most likely a scam.

Received a call from the same number mentioned above.Call from 855# but give another # to call.

Same as above... Called from 704# , to call 855#.  Calls everyday and leaves message.

Same as above but caller ID shows #503-437-9908 .  Message identical to previous posts from MACS

This is a scam to get you to call that number.  Same message as above. Says they are the corporate office of MACS.   I looked up MACS in Massachusetts and it comes up as the Mass civil service page.

Same as everyone 2nd phone originates from a local number...it's a scam!!!

(404) 341-0183, Atlanta, GA.

did anything come from this or is it really a scam?

Just received same message as the folks above did.  I am looking up every agency that takes reports of scams to report this number.  There is no collection agency by this name.

The same here. Got the call earlier today and of course I did not call back. This is stupid. Like really, just send me a letter if your business is real. Looked it up and can't find anything, but the call originated from a 704 number stating to call the 855 #. I am wondering, just by chance, has anyone at This point tried calling the number back? If so, what's up? Bcuz I say the hell with that.

Same as everyone else. Call says it is from SC but then they give you another #which  is the one above.

Notorious scam.  Don't give them any money.

Same call to both of my cell phones. Saying owe on a CC Acct from 2002. Very abusive and strong arm tactics used. I demanded written proof and that I dispute the debts validity. Guy became unglued. Vulture debt collectors. Look at BBB and there are lots of complaints. I urge everyone to contact the BBB and your attorney general's office to complain about these criminals. They are based in Buffalo NY.

reveived a call from the same number,said they were Mid Atlantic Consumer Services....when i did call back it went to some voice mail.they claimed that it will effect my work,which i am unemployed due to disability,and my bank account....number has been blocked.

Same as all the above except they identified me as Melissa Brown, who I am not.  Calling my work number within a rather large corporation.  Funny since nobody here knows of Melissa Brown either.  I want to call them back just to offer them my beach front property in Kentucky, my skyline view in downtown NYC, and most of all my dog.  I hate my dog.
