Had a guy first call me from a 404 area code to make sure that I was home so the Sherrif's office could serve me papers. I then need to call the 855 number who is a collection agency posing as a law firm. Ended up finding out the amount they were trying to "sue" me for was 100 times the debt amount. They would settle for 500.00 but my debt was five years outside of the statue of limitation for florida which is 5 years. If you debt is older that 5 years you cannot be held liable. They can sue you but you simply need to appear and tell the judge it is outside the statue of limitations. It is a complete scam

I recieved a phone call like the one above,  uhh at first yeah, I did think it was a scam at first,  but I called in  when I spoke with them they told me of a debt that I actually had and owed. I just forgot about it. What can I say things happen. We spoke for sometime told me everything that was going on. Whether or not I liked what they where saying, it was true, I did need to take care of my responsibility. I got a loan, I should or should I say we should take care of what ever we borrow, that is just being fair. They where respectful to me, and I took the settlement, and they did everything they said they where going to do. Look at it this way you go to a friend or a family member and you want to borrow money, they say oh i'll pay you back, but they never do you would be a little upset, cause they did'nt keep their word well how do you think they feel. In all honesty it shouldn't matter if the statue of limitations is up, you borrowed you should pay it back, basically what they see and other honest people see, is, your stealing. If we know it belongs to us well common sense

'Krystal' you are almost as inept at being a SHILL as the infamous 'Joey' is. Just plain laughable.
Your company knowingly buys invalid debts for next to nothing and then tries to 'Preach' to people about their responsilities and obligations to pay the debts they don't owe..to you.
Look up 'Parasite' in the Dictionary pal. You will find a definition that describes bogus debt collectors to a Tee. How does it feel to know that you are in an Occupation that is considered to be lower than that of a $5 Crack-[***]? You must make your family so proud.

OMG!!!!    Another case of  that dreaded shill disease  "LOAN DEMENTIA"   This disease saddens my heart because of the toll it has taken on many of our good,  honest SHILLS.  But I am Gladdened  each time I hear about someone like "Krystal rock'  who is well on the road to recovery and total Loan Recall.
    Kudos Krystal!!!!

Krystal rock is just a face name used to further the scam, nice double post. It's a easy way to try to build fake credability for the phone number in India. Just ask yourself, did i get any paperwork in the mail, have i seen or heard from a actual sherrif?

These people who call themselves JD Mitchell & Associates called my sister in law and my 80 year old grandmother and told them I was going to jail unless I signed some papers. I called them and asked what the problem was..I don't have cc or any other accounts to owe money on...I started out very calm but got very irritated when the "man" started saying that I needed to verify my address so they could send  court papers to me. I am SO beyond sick and tired of these crooks preying on people. I have tried every avenue to stop this and I keep getting this crap. Why won't anyone stop these people????

I received this very call earlier today, first from the 409 # which scared me to death.  The jerk on the phone was so rude.  He caught me off guard and scared me to death.  I normally don't answer calls not in my call list, so I don't know what possessed me.  I then called this other # that is listed here.  The man who answered transferred me to a Michael Williams who claimed to be a paralegal.  I wish I had thought to check the number out before I called there.  He said this was a debt from 2001 for a Master Card through a company called Matrix Direct which I have never heard of, but he had my SS#, my address, etc. This guy was nice, but he said they were filing the court order Monday morning and would sue me.  I should have known better and was highly skeptical (what process server calls people for one and what lawyer's office is open on the weekend for two), but he gave me the email address and name of his secretary and the name of the attorney, said his secretary would email me legal papers and confirmation, etc.  That was hours ago and still no email.  The address he gave me is bogus.as well.  When I looked up the statute of limitations here in this state it is 3 years.  I am kicking myself for forking over money that I can't afford to part with (bill money) on a debt that I don't know is really mine only to find out this was bogus.  The amount was over 3k and "after speaking to the attorney, he agreed to drop it to 1k."  I think what I will do is contact my bank and my attorney (to stop payment and see if I can file suit against these crooks). I can't believe I was so stupid :-(

    Freaked out
I kept getting a call from a Az number 520 they called fiancé phone from that # saying it was important to contact this JD law firm with the 855 number saying someone has placed a civil suit against me. I finally answered the first number 520 AZ processor stated couldn't provide info but to call 855 2710502 this Jason guy had no info only stated they are serving me a civil suit and tried verifying a address over 7 yrs old? Clearly something didn't seem right cause I have went through proper procedure for an address change each time I've moved in those 7 yrs soo when I asked again for info to verify they had nothing I did collection and this is a definite attempt to recover debt by scare tactic I have no debt owed since 2001 so how can I be sued and advised to do their research and locate me

855-271-0502 is just one of the numbers used in the scam and no matter what Krystal Rock (which is a fake name) says, she or he is lying and part of the scam. I can't begin to tell you how big of a scam this is and it is run out of India and therefore nothing the US can do about it because of the lack of laws about it. We get these call continually  for months on end. These and the ones claiming to be from Duke Energy and they can lower your bills. DO NOT CALL these people back and don't answer the phone!!!!! Report them to the state attorney general so if they are ever caught you can be part of the court process for harassment! I'd love to rip their faces off. There's no end to the harassment and we don't owe any debts but to hear them say it you'd think you were in big trouble. And the Sheriff is NOT going to show up at your door step. Think about it, people. If you had a debt you owed, you'd have received many over due statements and phone calls before it ever went to court and you'd know it was going to court. Sheriff nor police show up at your door for this stuff or for overdue bills. SCAM SCAM SCAM and quit feeding their scam by giving them the time of day. If you see the number on caller ID, let it ring and don't let an answering machine pick it up! They will call back after leaving you a message about how urgent the matter is and that the Sheriff will be serving papers. DO NOT GIVE them ANY ANY ANY information and don't call the numbers they tell you to call. This scam you can find on the internet and read for yourself. They also use multiple phone numbers. They always start with 855, usually, because it's a toll free number that can have any international phone number routed through it so it looks like it's in the USA and it's not. I've heard this scam is so deep and well thought out that they are always one or two steps ahead of being caught. They are worms!!!! I hope they do get caught because they know they are scamming people and stealing identities and putting fear into people, especially those who don't know any better. We have told them we know who they are and what they are and to quit calling but that doesn't work either. Just watch your caller ID and don't answer if you don't know who is calling you. When we get calls, and we get lots of types of scam calls, we type their phone number into the search area on the computer and it will show list after list of sites like this one where folks have reported what those calls are. Check out the numbers before deciding to answer. If you get a call saying they are with your bank or credit card company, do not believe it. Hang up and call your bank or credit card from the numbers on the back of your cards and see if they are trying to contact you. Most of the time they are not. It's people trying to steal your identity.

How do you think your suit will come out when these scammers are in India?  Never ever make a decision until you have had time to recover,  think,  then check it out.  These little Boiler Room Bandits know that if they can scare the PeePee out of someone, they will Rush to pay.

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same as above....got a call stating I was gonna get a summons for court. (red flag #1...In my line of work, I deal w/ alot of law enforcement and I often get court summons/subpoenas to testify in court.) They don't call you to tell you they are going to serve you, they actually just show up and serve you! No warning that they are coming. They gave me a number to call. Out of curiosity I called. They tell me I owe on a credit card that's been paid off for 1.5 years. They say it was never paid. They want me to send in the information within 24 hours showing where and how I paid it. HA HA!!! They want my account info is what they're after! I'm no dummy. Already reported it to the police.

These people DID FIND ME and had some of my personal identification info...(i.e. birth month and year but couldn't tell me the day I was born for "security reasons", they knew half of my social security number but couldn't tell me the rest due to "security reasons"). DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFO!!! They try to con you into giving it to them by telling you they need to make sure they have the right person because you will deny it's you. Of course you will, you don't owe that $ to anyone!! It's a scam. They even went as far as mailing me all these official looking papers that appear to be court documents but were missing important info that is included in actual court papers (city and court where paperwork is to be filed, etc). Like I said, in my line of work, I know the difference and still was unsure about it and had to do my research and pull out my paperwork, etc. Unfortunately, many others do not. They were very intimidating and stated that I owed that money and had to pay it or I was going to be sued for it. I told them it had been taken care of, they said no, that the people I paid scammed me because JD Mitchell and associates are the only ones authorized to take payment on this account. They are very intimidating even to me a professional who knows all the right lingo & procedures. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!!!! I got my paperwork stating that I did pay off this debt and I already called the police to file a report.
    IT'S A COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!!!!
