I received a call from this lady name Jackie White she left a message on my phone stating she was a courier who was hired to serve me with legal documents and that I need to have an ID when she serves me as well as if I needed to be served at work then I will need to have a supervisor or sercurity officer available to sign as a witness, now she said this would be on Wednesday, now today she calls my mother house and ask for me which my mother stated I do not live there, so she asked if I still stayed on and she called out a street name, then she tells my mother that she will be to serve me legal papers on Thursday but I can call 8552721416 and gave a case number to see how to resolve this issue. I am not sure if this is even a scam or the real thing. Words of advise please.

I keep getting threating calls from this number in regards to a payday loan they said I had in 2006, however the lady kept changing the years on me so I requested that they send me documentation, she laughed and said we don't have to send you anything you owe us so I refuse to send anything until I have vaild proof. Now they are calling me stating they are going to serve me with legal documents and I need to show ID when they do or if at work will need to have a supervisor available or a security officer available to sign as witness, they have even called my family members stating this but always in the end they say call 8552721416 and give a case number to resolve this issue.

I got a call from this number several times. They also called and left a message on my mother's voicemail saying that are coming by to serve me legal documents. They have never come by. If they did they kept on missing me. They also said very rudely that I needed to show them my id. For one thing the courts will usually serve court documents and they will also let you know if you have any court proceedings going on. This is a scare tactic to try and collect on an old loan that they can not legally do anything about. I for one just ignore them.

I also got a call from a lady named Michelle Wheeler stating she was a couier and needed to deliver some legal documents to me. I asked her from where and she could not say. I also told her I do not have a supervisor and I don't get home till 7pm. She said that she does not deliver that late and that I needed a supervisor there to be a witness and I need Id. She referred me to call 855 272 1416  I don't know why? If they so called serving me court papers why call if everything is in the works and I need to show up in court im assuming.  Sounds funny to me. She calls today and said she needs to deliver the papers to me by 4pm tomorrow or she will have to put refusal to sign. What!  I aint even seen this lady don't know what company she is from and if it is for a court date or someone suing me where is the constable?  All I can say is Good Luck cause I am not falling for the okey doke!  They want me in court or to sue me they better put some court documents in my hand!

    Not Falling For It
Yup, just got a call from them (showed up as "855-272-1416" on my Caller ID but showed the call originating in Salt Lake City. The lady identified herself as a 'private carrier' and stuttered a bit as she tried to explain why she was calling. She stated that she had a "sealed package" that she would be delivering to me on Monday and that I would have to sign for it. I asked her what address she would be delivering it to (I have several addresses) and she couldn't give me that information, stating only that "Your information just came across my docket and I won't have the delivery address until the that day."

She then gave me the same line that they apparently give everyone else regarding calling this number and gave me a file number to use if I had any questions regarding the matter, and the call ended.

1st of all, if they were official court papers then the court official will attempt a delivery to your residence twice, then one more time at your employer. If a signature is required and you aren't available to sign then it goes as undeliverable and your case will continue without your presence or defense.

2nd of all, as a previously employed and licensed Private Courier myself, anytime you are handed information on a client for delivery whether its the next day or a week from today, you have ALL of the required information as far as addresses and contact information to confirm a set delivery time period that the person in question is available to accept the package.

3rd, and last... Do debt collectors really think that people are that gullable that they would divulge any kind of personal information over the phone after getting a vague call like this? If I called the number and gave them the file number, they'd immediately verify my address for their records and then start hounding me about some stupid debt that doesn't exist (Hello, my credit score is a 814!) and then threaten or bully me verbally to try and scare me into paying it so it doesn't ruin my credit history, followed by emails and letters to whatever address you give them.

These people obviously are using outdated information (my last bad debt was over 10 years ago) and trying to collect on something that's been closed and invalid for quite some time. I heard someone say that the 7 year statute doesn't apply to bad debts if the companies purchase them from other collectors and that it 'resets' the timeline. I'm here to tell you that is NOT the case. If a debt still shows on your report after 7 years and a company is trying to collect on it, most likely they don't even have the original debt information (Original company money is owed to, what the purchase was for, original date of debt, etc) which they have to have on file legally to be able to collect. That's how I got out of half of my debts was lack of information to back up their claims. Simply file against the 3 bureaus stating that the debt is invalid and uncollectable and if the company can't back up their claim then *poof* goes the report against you.

As for these people... whatever they are trying to scam out of me, I won't be answering anymore of their calls.

    Scam Alert!
Received a call like all of the messages above saying they were delivering papers, etc.  I called the number back and they wanted a debit card, saying I owed a payday loan from 2009.  If I didn't pay the balance of $379, then I would be sued and have to pay over $2000.  I asked them to mail me something in writing to say this was legit.  They told me they did not have to mail me anything, very hateful, and rude.

Long Story Short-  I called the Federal Trade Commission in Washington DC and filed a complaint.  The gentleman told me to get my annual credit report.  If the debt was not on my credit report then I did not owe it.  I went to annualcreditreport.com and instantly got a free credit report.  There were no payday loans on my credit report!  Do not even call these people or answer their phone calls.  They will try to get you to give your personal information and bank account information.

I today got a phone call from a 855 number name Michael Tanner. They used my maiden name for one and called my grandmother in law and said that I was being sued and they needed to contact me so I could speak with a lawyer and gave her a case number. I despised these people scaring old people and harrassing my call family members to humiliate you.
