This number has called every day for about the past 3 weeks!  We've always let it go to voice mail due to not recognizing it and assuming it's just a sales call.  The line is our home phone but we rarely use it and never give out the number. They just now called again. I picked this one up instead of letting it go to voice mail and a guy asked for my wife.  I told him she's not here and he immediately hung up.  I called the number and it had a strange ringer sound like it was an international call.  It rang many times and nobody answered. Its got to be a scam.

I add all bogus call numbers to a contact called SPAM.
So next time they call..there is no question about who they really are.

I too am getting the same thing.. Calls every night, when I answer nobody is there and when I call back weird ring tone. Not sure what to do about it or who to report it to!  Anyone have any ideas??

I got a phone call from this phone number; sounds like a scam or someone trying to get personal info.  Why doesn't the FCC do something about this phone #?  I hope they're not from India!

I got a call from this number (855-279-2579) and answered. What sounded like the voice of a woman asked for a person with my husband's first name and my last name (my husband and I have different last names). I said no one with that name lives here and put my number on your do not call list. She said she would report my number as a wrong number. I doubt it, especially after reading the other posts here. Wish I had asked her to identify who she was calling for.

Calls every day and sometimes in the evening. We do not pick-up because we,\'re sure it,s a scam. How can we stop these people?

Same thing, I just switched cell carriers and the calls started.  I will not answer - thanks to all the posts.

I got a phone call tonight and it came up as Anonymous. I did not answer it.

I got the same problem with calls from this number. How can we stop it? Just said on the ID: Toll free. I believe it must be a phone number from a street booth somewhere. The only answer I see on this site is "stop the Collection calls" I do now receive collection calls. Any other idea?

Got a call from 855-279-2579 a couple of hours ago, ID said toll-free, called back and sounded like some type of blocking software on the line. I tried reverse lookup and they have no information about the number. Definitely shady.

As all the others say, we get the call several times a week.  My husband answered by mistake and the guy on the call asked for me by name.  Wouldn't leave a message.  I just got the call again and we didn't t answer.  My phone has a call block feature.  I just entered the number. Hopefully the calls stop now.
