They left vm stating they were from a neighboring county that they couldnt even pronounce correctly. They said it was in regards to charges being filed and named a defendant I dont know and left a case number and said they had to be contacted today by me. Then they ended the call by stating my full name and said you have been notified good luck.

Typical scammer BS.  You can't "officially" be notified of anything via phone.  Please do feel free to ignore their calls - and do report them to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.

8552819628 this is the number they left to call.
They threatened to come to my place of employment and home. Said legal action are pending against me. They did not state which company  they are. Suggested I called immediately to avoid arrest.

Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested, even if they have defaulted on a loan.  More info here:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

If charges were pending against someone the legal system wouldnt call on the phone.  They would have a police officer serve papers personally.  These bottom feeders must think people are very stupid to beleive this. Hopefully by posting here we can alert others to this new type of threatning scam.

They called asking for my father. And then asked if I could give him a message. They gave me a number to call back, with an extension and a case number. Second time they have done this.

Received a call from 855-281-9628 using a married name from 5 years ago along with another person's name - referring to legal action - ending with "you have been notified - good luck".  Attempted to return call before checking the web - call would not go thru.
