Called me no message

called stating if I idnt pay for a loan online that I never took put three years ago in a name I hae not used for many years that I would see then in front of a judge

I hear from these people once a month using a different number. 844-279-1645 and 844-279-7429
They ask for a Kevin Gordon and if you are not Kevin Gordon hang up. They then give a claim number.
It shows in my voice mail once a month . This is the third number I'm blocking.1/3/16

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number


Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Same people calling that had the 844-279-7429 number spewing about unpaid payday loan.  I'm not never going to answer the phone so call and leave messages all you want.

Leaves message for someone with same last name as us but different first name. Something about a file number or some nonsense. Blocked. Clearly not legitimate.

Give it a rest.  You'll never get a nickle out of me.  Payday loan payback.  Think not.

Just got this call a few minutes ago and automated message stated there was a claim in their office and I was given a claim number.  I never pick up the phone from someone or someTHING I don't know as I know full well the type of crooks that are out there.

They called late at night and very rude too.

Got a call from them about a pay day loan I never took. I blocked the number they called my brother ! Big scammers they need to be put in jail!

I just tell em exactly want they wanna hear, then put them on hold...rinse repeat..when they say they are terminating the call i go again..over and over...the sad thing is these wastes for life keep calling and we go through it again and again...its freaking hilarious

Just recited a call from these people.. I didn't answer. They left no message. My brother called me with in seconds of these people calling and said that they called him. He answered and it was a automated message.... every year around when w-2 come out for tax's people like this call my family and friends and my self and just harass us to no end... I'm so sick of it. I don't even know how they get any of our numbers. Specially after they have changed over the years.

Got a VM to call a number for a claim in their office. It was auto message and when she said the call was for ---- they never said a name then they said reference claim number---- and no number was given. I called and asked for a supervisor and he said I was ready to go to court if I didn't pay for a payday loan from 6 years ago which I didn't do and never received any paperwork whatsoever in the past. They had ALL my info, SS#, bank number and name, email, where I worked. Funny thing is they never mentioned the call being recorded for quality purposes. I have my bank checking the so called transaction from 2010.  They threatened me with legal action. When I mentioned that was illegal for a debt collector to say that he said over and over that they are not a debt collector but a arbitration company and they didn't have to follow FTC rules. Its a scam. I called the Miami BBB and they have no accreditation for this so called company. I called him back and argued about their legitimacy and all he said was good luck in court then hung up on me. I was firm but polite. I asked him why he isn't recording the call and he said they would when it was needed but he kept asking for me to confirm my SS number which they had already recited to me in an earlier call. I said record the call and I will tell you and he said its not the right time to record. ha ha. Of course I would never give him that info but they already had it before they even called.

They are nothing but a bunch of scammers. Don't trust them at all. Tell them you are coming to Miami to meet directly with them, see what they say. Get these [***]!! file a complaint with the FTC

Called me today. Staying an outstanding pay day advance (never in my life), same threats as other posters.

Received a call from a number I didn't know. This one.  Didn't answer and sent to voicemail.

Number mentioned a claim and someone with my last name, but not my first.  Asked me to call (844) 279-7431.

Based on the other responses here, I don't think I will. If they want my money or information, they can come find me and get it from me personally.

Called two days in a row on cell phone.  Stated a claim number and a number to call back.
Unfortunately I used a different number to call back.   I now had to block 2 numbers.   Said I had an old loan - baloney.
