keep getting calls from this number - I do not answer unknown numbers, or incoming callers that pop up "unknown caller" etc., however I have a recorded message telling the caller to leave a message, which they never do.  I have this number on the NC DO NOT CALL LIST, AND AM READY TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION THROUGH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS'S OFFICE

They are a collection agency for hospitals

Apparently, this is a 'legitimate' outside billing department for our local hospital in Georgia (and probably many other hospitals).  The voice message says the name of the patient and asks that she call the number back.

The patient called the local hospital business office, instead, and they said the call was from 'MDS,' which is their outside billing company.

The problem is that the medical service occurred about 1 month ago, half of it was paid up-front, and the hospital has not yet even sent a bill for the balance.  We will not be dealing with an outside billing company, but will pay the remainder to the local hospital.  They said they had not turned anything over for collections.

Beware of this caller, but be advised that they might be calling concerning a legitimate medical bill.

Getting calls from this number with a very abrasive mans voice on other end, I tell them my name and that it is a cell phone, and that I have had the same number with my AT&T carrier since august of 2000, 14 + yrs......and the man says that I am lying, and that I do know the person he is asking for..........I have put the number on my reject list, but whomever this is, just calls from another number,   it is exasperating............glad I have unlimited minutes!
Hang in there everybody!   They use scare tactics, and give information that is personal about the person they are trying to locate, and break every HIPPA rule that was ever put on the books.  I have reported this number to the NC Attorney Generals Office, hope it helps.

They called identifying themselves as "Moses Cone Billing Department" which they aren't. I will be reporting this number to Moses Cone letting them know a third party is using their name. These guys are skating on the edge of the law it appears.

I do not give out my cell number. This number called my cell. I do not have any outstanding medical bills that I should be getting calls and especially to this number. I have had the same landline number for 36 years. This is the number anyone I have dealings with should call not my cell. I'm also on the no call list. Thanks for the information. I will try to add it to my no call numbers.

I got a call 8 days after my hospital bill arrived.   They wanted their money.   I have been dealing with the same hospital for 12 years, always paying my bills when they came in.   They said they were an "extended office" of my hospital.     I mailed my check to the hospital.

This is a collection agency for Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. They keep calling and we keep going to the billing office to get the UNCORRECTLY billed amount taken off! BUT THEY KEEP CALLING. I am going to file a harassment suit if these two cannot get their facts straight!!! This has been going on for months!!!!!!!

This is crazy. this is the first time in my life I have gotten a call from the hospital I have dealt with for 30 or more years.  I just received a few bills from the hospital on top of paying a large amount when I went.  Now they are already calling for more money.  I pay my bills as soon as I get them.  I have never heard of the hospital calling so soon after the bill comes for the money.  Sounds to me they are hard up.  why don't they call the people who don't pay there bills.

This was a valid call from a local hospital business office.  They were just following up about a billing that I had received yesterday.  This phone number was actually on the top of the bill I received.  Not sure why it came though as Toll Free Number as the natural assumption is that it is a scam call.

No, they aren't. You can't track this number. They are an outside US scammer. For me, they pretended to be a McAfee tech provider

They called and asked for the last four of my social to "confirm my identity." I asked them how I can tell if they are legitimate. They said I can call them back and provided this number (855-283-9093). I googled the number, but there is nothing online that I can find that easily comes up for that number (other than this website). So I call back, skeptical, and a man answers, saying "Thanks for calling the business office." I ask *which* billing office, and they say it's the billing office for Maine General. So I ask, "Oh, you're in Maine?" And he says "No, we're in Florida. We are the extended business office." Anyway, long story short, I tell him I will continue talking with Maine General's *central* billing office, located in Maine, thanks.

When I called they said they are a billing service I said for whom and they said Maine General. I asked why Maine General isn't calling and the guy gave some answer that made no sense but I entertained the call just to see what his script was like. I said if I have a bill please send it to me by mail (I know I have no bill) He said he would be happy to after I verified my identity. I asked him if this scam actually works and he got quiet and then said he was recording this call as if some how that would convince me and I said awesome I am doing the same. He wanted name, address, and last 4 digits of social to send me a paper bill in the mail or drivers license number haha.

Its Legit....Maine general.......3rd billing party...Granted I had made payment threw the Maine General billing site, they had not received it yet. I'm assuming they bill for lots of hospital in the united states.

Smarten up, the Attorneys General do not care.
