Received a phone call from this number last week saying I owed on payday loan of many years ago they wanted a payment of $110 A month for five months I told them I couldn't do it and they said me with collection action and that the end of the conversation it would say good luck request a company from Key West with a unknown number when they called and the number they gave me was on a 1855-293-6499
and 1-888-699-1964. You call them and they never pick up the phone

It is most likely a "smurf" number.  Illegal debt collectors are like little smurfs.  They purchase disposable cell phones with untraceable numbers, and move from place to place (usually one hotel room to another) to avoid being tracked by the authorities.  They are, in most cases, illegal payday lenders attempting to collect on an illegal debt.  In some cases, they go after people who have never even taken out such a debt, but they don't care as long as they're able to collect from somebody.

My best advice is to NEVER take out a payday loan, ESPECIALLY online.  These "lenders" that unscrupulous opportunists like Montel Williams have made so famous often operate outside the United States, and their outrageous interest rates violate every state's usury laws (meaning that even they DID take you to court, no judge would uphold the debt).  Furthermore, the money they collect on these "loans" may be used to fund some very unsavory practices that none of us would never want to fund (i.e. drug trafficking, money laundering, prostitution, human trafficking, etc).  Once they have your bank account number, it's a free license for them to move money in and out without your future consent.  I've known people who never even gave them an account number, but it was obtained through some form of identity theft, like an imprint and pin input stolen from any random ATM, or other database breach (can you say "Target"?).

Here's a way to tell if the number you referenced is legit....wait 2 or 3 weeks, and then call it back.  If you get a "disconnected" message, it was a smurf number, and that phone has long since been pitched in a dumpster.
