- Scotty| 1 replyThis is a company called United Receivables Group and I believe they are a collection agency. May or may not be legit. If they are legit, then they don't abide by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They continue to 1) call before or after the hours that they are allowed to by law 2) harass myself, family members and place of employment even after my direct contact information has been established with this company 3) Threaten me with negative credit reporting, even though the file is currently under review for fraud/mistaken identity

- Anonymous| 6 repliesUnited Recovery Group - this is a legitimate business. I had a debt that when I was job eliminated I could no longer honor/pay. Because I am on Unemployment, they were willing to work within the scope of that and accept a payment arrangement I could honor. Better to talk and make arrangements with them than end up in court with a judgment.

- Gunnar replies to Anonymous| 4 repliesSeeing as you're so happy to endorse them, then you should be happy to post their valid physical address. Right? They were "willing to work" with you so you must have all of their pertinent information. Post it. Don't worry, if they're in compliance with all the aspects of the FDCPA they'll have nothing to hide. They'll think of it as free advertising. They won't even want you to give us one of their box numbers at a UPS store. They'll encourage you to post their actual physical address, the owner(s) names & where they're licensed & bonded to collect debt, business & incorporation numbers, web site addresses, case numbers related to past judgments they may have received (public information), etc.
I don't think you'll be posting much of anything verifiable about this outfit. As a matter of fact, I do believe the name sounds familiar.... Hmmm, that seems odd doesn't it? Oh well. We'll be waiting for that info.....

Yep, "United Recovery Group" is well known on 800notes, as complaints about them have been posted here for several years.

I guess the shills just don't learn from past mistakes. - Gunnar replies to SlimHow's it goin' Slim?
Yeah, I knew that name rang a bell. Obviously this group of crawlers fired up a new number. The poor little Shill sure exposed it quickly didn't he? Yep, this outfit has some people working for them that are just plain dumb as stumps...

Gunnar - TXbear replies to ScottyThese idiots tried to intimidate me advising that if I didn't handle my "file" with "Officer Vanessa Kelly" by 4pm today then a warrant would be issued for me and they will come to my home or work and arrest me. I played along and asked "Officer Kelly" for her badge #. She said she couldn't give that info out. I told her I work for Harris County and that I am a Constable. That's when she started back pedaling her lies. scammers try to use these false tactics to scare people into paying them. I told her to mail me the info & paperwork that I owe this debt , that was 2 weeks ago and I haven't received anything nor has she called back .
- k replies to Gunnar| 1 replyThey call from a restricted number but then leave a 855 number with extension

855-293-6521 - Gunnar replies to kIgnore them. Block their calls if you can. If you do take one of their calls tell them that you are familiar with the FDCPA (go to ftc.gov) & that you are DEMANDING that they MAIL you a notice of validation within 5 business days. When they refuse, for whatever reason, tell them that you are now aware that they are fraudulent debt scammers & that you will be filing complaints with the FTC & your states Atty. Generals office. By all means, do so. Complaints can be made on-line very easily. It takes only minutes.
Live Well.
Gunnar - Tired of. harassmentI have received two calls from an unknown number asking me to contact this number or I will have papers served on me. The first time I answered I told I was not the name they asked for and he all but called me a liar! Leave me alone!

- Scam CallCalled asking for someone else. Left a msg even though my voicemail states a totally different name than they were asking for. Said the person owed money and said they need an immediate response. Gave a case number etc. Sounded really fishy to me so I looked up the number. I was going to call to tell them they have the wrong person but won't now having seen all the complaints. I do not have any debt that is past due. How did they get my number? I,m sending an email to the Attny General here in my state. Rotten Scammers.
