- Raj Parkh| 2 repliesNon-stop fraud calling for fake debt collections
- Call type: Debt collector
- NP replies to Raj Parkh| 1 replydid they say who it was? I've been getting calls too!
- MJG replies to NPRefusing to give their information - violation of the FDCPA (which should tell you so much about the caller).
- DDLthey've called me non stop and now they're calling my parents looking for me.. WTH?
- daw| 1 replyThis number called me times already saying I'll have legal action taken against me and go to court unless I arrange to pay 589 dollars to a company I never even heard of. BS!!!!!!

- LD| 3 repliesgot a robo call on my work phone and was told a name (Rebecca White I think) but not a company. Supposedly a claim being processed to be served for an unpaid bill. Was directed to press 0 to speak to a live person. When did was asked to enter extension or press 0 for an operator. Pressed 0 and the line switched and then dropped.
- Josh| 2 repliesMy wife and mother received multiple calls trying to verify my information in an attempt to collect a debt that doesn't exist. Company has all of my old information, address, place of employment, email address, but the debt is completely fraudulent. They refuse to give me any contact information for the company that I allegedly owe (Oakwood Services) and just say it's for a payday loan. I've never received a payday loan from any company. And by attempting to call my mother and wife to collect this non-existent debt, they are breaking the law.
- Caller: PFS / Oakwood Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to JoshThey are required by law to do something within 5 days of first contact. Calling your friends and family is a scare tactic trying to panic and embarrass you into paying them extortion money.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: http://consumerfraudreporting.org/stateattorneygenerallist.php - babygirl replies to JoshI also had the same call today saying I needed to pay $400 for a loan and that I defrauded this so called company that I have never heard of and that I needed to pay it before it went to court and that I would also have to pay all the court fees ect. I have never gotten a loan and I looked up my credit report and funny how I don't have a $400 outstanding debt to any company.. SCAMMERS
- babygirl replies to dawSame thing happened to me... BEWARE
- SZReceived a call today saying a claim had been filed against me (with my maiden name) and they'd be finding out my current address and employer so they could the necessary action. Had same call from another number last week, although that one was more forceful. They left that info in a message so even if it wasn't a scam they'd be breaking the law by revealing that info to someone they're not sure is me.
- Call type: Debt collector
- ardensulgot a robo call on March 7 2016 from this number threatening legal action,if I did not pay this 480 dollars, for a loan I supposedly took out from a online company in 2012, refuses to send me paperwork, and wants to set up a payment plan. I belive they said they were PFS or TFS in South Carolina, web search shows no such company in that state. Have to belive this is a scam.
- Caller: PFS
- Call type: Debt collector
- ch replies to LD| 2 repliesI received the same phone call and I tried to speak to someone but got no where. I am filing a complaint with the state attorney generals office. If she continues to call, we will see who gets served. This is harassment, especially once you have told them to stop calling and asked for verification of this so called Debt.
- echb replies to chdoing the same thing!!! I was also told to call the local police to report it and file a complaint at FTC.gov (or FTCcomplaintassistant.gov if you're on the donotcall list!
- Elf1Same thing and they are calling my government issued Blackberry. I just put my work number Blackberry on the do not call list. I just checked my credit score and it is 849, so hard to believe I am indepted to anyone.
- Call type: Debt collector
- SandraI received a call from this number also. It is a scam. If they do not leave the name of the company or reason for calling just hang up. They are profiting on the fear they project from these calls. A legitimate company will only work through the mail system, not phone calls or emails.
- unknownI received a call from this number also. Used the name Rebecca White wanting my daughter (not even at this number) wanting to get address and employment so they could deliver a claim against her.
- Caller: no company name person name Rebecca White
- PJHI got the same call today. It is definitely fraud - scare tactics ...report them!
- Caller: TFS/PFS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tammy| 1 replySomeone calling themselves Rebecca White saying they are notifying us of a claim in their office that is being prepared for delivery and they will be verifying a current address and place of employment for delivering proper documentation. None of which make a bit of sense. Friggin' scammer!
- Caller: Wise (?)
