Just got a call from this number with no message left. There's reports of another scammer calling using the same number with an 800 toll-free number (800-313-4520). Sounds like it could be the same thing and maybe they're just using a different spoofed number. Caller ID just says "Out of Area"

The other number was a scam where they offered to "clean your PC" (and most likely your bank account too) remotely from viruses you didn't know you had (and DON'T HAVE)....

    Just let in ring......

June 4, 2014. I just received a call from a man calling himself Thomas Smith, although he sounded very very "indian, or foreign".  He said he was calling from Microsoft and noticed I had 1,700 windows error msgs. on my computer.  He wanted me to press the "flag key" at the bottom left of my key pad and the letter "R" so he could confirm my computer ID number and to read it to him.  I said, if you are from Microsoft, you would know my computer ID number.  He then said he needed to determine if the error msgs. were from Windows, or Google Chrome.  I asked for his phone number and said I wouldn't give him any info. about my computer.  I forgot to ask him if he knew my name. Darn it all.  I think they were trying to get into my computer to steal all my personal information.  So I asked him to tell me my computer number, so he rattled off "888 and four letters". Not my computer number at all, not even close! Careful out there.

    Whoa! They are callous!
Call from and Indian/English speaker saying rapidly that he is from Microsoft, tells me he is calling from New Delih, India - when I asked, then he says he got my phone number from my IP address from my computer, and is urging me to go to my computer give him my computer's identification number, and to let him help me clean all this new viruses that are currently infecting computers and mine is one of them. He then tells me he is a Windows Technician, then I tell him I really don't have time now, to give me his number an I will call him back.  He tells me his name is Jordan Smith, gave me 1855-313-4520 , and before I hang up agreeing to call him back at a better time he says don't worry ma'am.  When I look ay my caller ID his number shows up as follows (185)531-3452.  I am running sooooooo fast to call him back.....NOT.....The thing is this is not the first call I get like this!!!!!! He said his company is RFS Windows Technician.

Caller ID said Private Caller.  My husband answered and gave it to me when they started talking computers.  Foreign English speaking person tried to tell me that my computer is sending a lot of error messages and they are offering to fix it for free.  He started his speech about malware, viruses, etc. and I cut him off and told him I am an IT person.  Asked him his name and what company he works for.  He told me his name was 'K' and the company was RSS Windows Tech Support.  I guess he might of said RFS like 'Whoa' above said.  I'm sure this is someone trying to take over your personal computer.  Please do not let them!

I got a call from an Indian and he said they are getting lots of network errors from my computer. I told him I have never worked with any body on computer problems and I said how could they see my computer problems. He then transferred me to his supervisor who also said the same thing. I asked them how do I believe in what they are saying. He said he knows my computer ID and i can verify it by pressing windows button+R and then type CMD on search box.He advised me to type some thing in the black screen. The black screen scrolls down and then you see the computer ID.The first 8 letters were same as what he told me.He did not give me all the ID numbers. Any way he then wanted to connect me on remote access.  It was saying untrusted area. I asked for his name and he said Jordon Smith. He gave me his number as 1-855-313-4520.He said they are from KABSIT solutions. I told him I am very busy now and he can call me tomorrow.i asked him as to where he is calling from. He said New Delhi.Thank God I did not go into the remote access with him.He would have stolen all my computer information.

DITTO on all above messages posted in Jun '14. The guy who called me said his name was Eric, very Indian accent. As above, said his company (windows support company) was receiving error messages from my computer. I too asked him the name of his company, his phone number; which he had trouble specifying; and I had a harder time trying to understand him. When I kept pressing for his phone number, he finally said: '855.3134.520' I responded that was not a conventional phone number; asking him the area code, etc. He just kept repeating: 855.3134.  and then added 520. Did not even know how to give the number in conventional form xxx.xxx.xxxx.  After asking him repeatedly the name of his company (that I wanted to check it out), then asking him to spell the name of his company- eventually got 'KABSIT solutions'. Said this was not a good time for me; I would call him back at my convenience. Well, he called again today; after me telling him that yesterday. Caller ID only gives, 'Out of Area'. I called my phone company to get further info, they couldn't give me anymore. Tried to block it; unsuccessful to this point. Like those above, I WILL NOT BE CALLING THESE GUYS!! Thankfully, I did not give them any info. [He said they have my name, computer ID, and phone number(obviously), but not my address]. BEWARE!!

This person called from 855-313-4520. His name was "Jeff Willams". He stated he was from Microsoft and from Windows Tech Support. He had called my grandmother who isn't that knowledgeable of computers, telling her about the error msgs. Luckily, she didn't give him any information. He gave the 855 number to call back along with a code starting with 888. She has since called Microsoft directly as I was googling this. IT IS A SCAM just as the other people have stated. If you see this number ignore! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO, THEY ARE TRYING TO HACK YOUR COMPUTER OR SELL YOU BOGUS VIRUS SOFTWARE AND MALWARE. Good luck.

    Shills abound!

That company's website was  created on 10/5/2013.  Not very long ago.
It is scheduled to expire on 10/5/2014, so the owner does not have much faith in it lasting long.
Legitimate computer companies DO NOT call people, telling them their computers have problems.

This appears to be too similar to scam #3, as described here:
