Recording said it was a call from Suntrust Bank with the name of a family member, who holds an account there.  Recording said there was a change of status and they asked for a return call within 24 hours.  Sounds bogus, but will investigate further and contact the bank.

Just went through the identical experience for the third time. They said there was a change of status in my wife's bank account, and that she should call 855-313-5194 within 24 hours. It was a recording, so I could ask any questions. Has anyone checked with SunTrust to see if this is legitimate? I seriously question this and told my wife not to reply.

I called SunTrust & was told that 855-313-5194 is their number for leaving private messages to let customers know that their account is past due.   They try to get in touch before the account is 30 past due so that it will not be reported to the credit bureaus.

I also called suntrust about a call from 855-313-5194 and they said no one from Sun Trust called me about my account, and that there was no past due balance for my Sun Trust card. I think the 855 313 5194 caller was trying to scam my bank info from me. BEWARE!

SunTrust has my physical address, and should notify me by First Class Mail if there is a problem. Caller ID was "Private Caller," no number shown. Not gonna resopond to that.

Evidently Wedding Woman above is part of the scam.  I got the same call but I have no overdue accounts with ST so they have no reason to call me.  I would not call them back.

I called SunTrust, and there was no status change, but I also blocked the account phone or online exchange capability so that anyone must appear at a teller and show positive ID before any status change could take place. It's a scam.

After the 7th encounter, I finally answered and gave them my zip code (which I figured they had anyway) and was told my account was $20 overdue.  I could pay by check (they would WAIT) while I got my information.  At that point I hung  up.  Have spoken to bank reps and they say this is DEFINATELY A SCAM!!!  They never call about anything and never call at 7:20 at night or on a Sunday afternoon!  (Also had caller ID 855-519-7940.)

Got 3 robo-calls today claiming to be SunTrust and saying there was a "change in status" on my account and they needed to speak to me within 24 hours by calling 855-313-5194.  I called my local branch instead and they referred me to the national SunTrust customer service number (1-800-786-8787 - but don't trust me).  I haven't bothered.

Totally BOGUS.    Just called SunTrust and they verified that this is NOT there number.    Total hoax.    First they will try to scam you $20, then ask for you to verify your credit card number, zip code and then Social Security Number.    DO NOT FALL for this.   Report the number.

Recording keep calling at least twice a day asking for a family member that has account with Suntrust bank. They say that person needs to call them back within 24 hours. Family member called Suntrust direct and they state no number in there system 855 323 5194. They say is a scam, don't answer questions. Family members accounts are in good standing.

I received the same call.  I figure it was bogus, automated and called my work phone on a saturday.

Call from 855.313.5194 is a scam.  SunTrust informed me they do not call to collect overdue payments and otherwise never make calls after hours or on weekends.

Ah ha!!!! A phishing attempt, so says the real Suntrust!!!

SunTrust told me to report number at emailabuse@suntrust.com.

I got the same call from a number 855-519-1940 claiming to be from Sun Trust Bank and there is a change in status on my account and I need to call within 24 hours. I called the Sun Trust customer service line to ask if they were actually trying to contact me and they said they had no record of any department trying to contact me for any reason.

Mother has received multiple messages from recording claiming to be Suntrust at this number, with the same that most of these folks are reporting-- that there has been a change in status. I figured it was bogus, since nothing else pointed to it being legit (paper or online statements or notices). Don't fall for it!!!
