- Trying to Figure This OutI received two calls from this company as well. I received the first call stating that I had 4hrs to respond or me and my lawyer had 24hrs to reply to that call. Ok so i call back today because they did call me "
unknown" so i returned the call when i got home from work. I was returning a call to a Allison King but whoever the guy was that i got on the phone was very rude and getting loud with me. I asked for a letter of validation of whatever debt that I supposed to owe and he got all obnoxious and started screaming at me because i would not validation the last four of my social security number. I advised him that by law he was supposed to identify himself and the company and the reason for the call. He said lady by law your supposed to verify the last four of your ss# I could not get a word in otherwise. He was still screaming and then he said good luck in court. I stated that i have not received any correspondence from Western Portfolio Management and he stated they sent several to my email wow how professional could that be anyway he slammed the phone down then had the nerves to call and "unknown" again cough to get past and still I didn't talk with him again.- Caller: Western Portfolio Management

As I have stated before with this number or other numbers, I am not Julian Salazar and I don't know a Julian Salazar. - Who is going to stop this?Last week, I received several calls from this number claiming that I had an unpaid debt and needed to pay it to avoid being "served". This has become so so old. I began receiving calls a few months ago from several spoofed numbers and people claiming that I owed a debt. The calls all have the same automated message stating that a case has been filed at my local court. They also claim that I took this loan out about 7 years ago and never paid it back. They will even go as far as calling your family, friends and employer to pressure you into giving them a "prepaid" visa card # over the phone.. DONT BE FOOLED. These folks have your personal information from an internet source and chances are, you don't owe them a dime. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to get the information from them. But here is what you can do: Ignore the calls, Don't engage. If they have gone as far as calling your employer, beat them at their game and let your employer know what's going on. There are several articles on BBB.org and FTC.gov regarding the nature of these scams so your employer should understand that you are a victim of identity theft. So sorry that you are all being taunted by adults who are too lazy to try and find legitimate employment. Hang in there. Make sure to file your complaint at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1. I now also record all calls and messages. I also trace the phone calls using *57 then follow up with my local law enforcement. I have successfully traced 8 numbers and each time, I record the date and time I traced the call.

- AGot a call threatening my county's police involvement if I didn't call back and give them my SSN...called my county's non-emergency police line, reported the call, and was assured I had no warrants/complaints outstanding and the call was a scam. P.S. I work at a collection agency and we're not allowed to hang up on a customer at ANY point, no matter how heated it gets. Scam #.

I tried to update my address and advised to send documents but she refused. Also advised the message left on my voice mail broke fdcpa laws. Rep said I needed to call the corporate office but refused to give the number.. I would like to know how to stop this. They have been calling for about a year now.

- Anonymous replies to Weird Collection CalleeYeah! A 'Melissa Stanford' from western portfolio management called me and left a message saying that the person who previously had my phone number was a person of interest in an investigation and that my immediate attention was required. Long story short that was about a month ago, I never responded, and I never heard back!
- Tamianth replies to JenniferFrom the previous posts above, it appears to be extortion payday loan scam. You may not be able to stop them calling..
You might want to invest in a call blocking device or phone. Amazon has a nice selection of devices at 60.00.
However, you do want to file reports on these calls..
Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - WESTERN PORTFOLIO MANAGMENT| 1 replyI also got multiple calls from that number and it says they are calling from Western Portfolio Management. - TheyaresodumbI also received a phone call from Western Portfolio Mgt. stating that that I owe them money, WRONG. I do not owe anybody anything at this time and filed bankruptcy a year ago so they are full of it. I called back and the guy started telling me what i owed but as soon as I told him he was wrong and that I had filed bankruptcy he hung up on me. Do not give them any information this is a scam, plus they had my maiden name, I have been married for years.
