Said toll free, about blue cross & blue shield benefits.

Left me a message saying they were Blue Cross and BLue Shield of NC and had important health info for me. Called back to get a recording telling me I won a two night cruise including all meals to the Bahama's and all they would need would be port fees applied to my credit card. It should be illegal to misrepresent yourself in this manner. Having been dealing with some health issues and BCBSNC being my carrier I originally thought this was legit and it caused me great concern.

Called back & got recording reminding me to get my flu shot

I got a call from 412-315-0844 on Oct 16, 2012.  It was a recorded message saying they were from BCBSNC (Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina).  The recorded message asked me to verify who I was.  They had my name correct, and I said 'yes'.  They then asked me to call a toll free number, 855-336-3052, I guess it was something about my account.  I thought this was suspicious, so I called BCBS at the number that I know is their customer service number.  The BCBS customer service said they did not see anything on my account, and they did not recognize the toll-free number I had been asked to call.  When I did call the toll-free number, with my called ID blocked, a recorded message asked me to enter my phone number.  I made up a number, but the recording said they did not have it on file.  The recording asked me to call back from the number to which the original recorded message was delivered.  As I guessed from the outset, this is fraudulent

If you give them your real number you'll get begged in having a flu shot.  No scam.  For real.  But if you read this, you don't need to call them.

My wife had this call from BCBS on her phone asking for me and to call back to 855-336-3052.  We do have BCBS through her work and this was a call from BCBS making sure I had scheduled my FLU SHOT for the season.  Not a fake call but just a reminder from my health care provider.
