Received letter in the mail from a company with the same return phone number. It stated that it was from The American Rewards Center.  The letter stated that we had won an airline ticked, and that we needed to call to receive the award. It also listed their website as americanrewardscenter.com, which does not apparently exist. I would guess this is just a scam or an advertising group.

Same letter. Obviously not legit. No return address and devoid of the usual "fine print."

Yup, received this letter too, knew was an obvious scam, first has no address on "letter-head" and states  "You are qualified for an award....."   thats like saying I qualified to run in a race DOESNT SAY THAT I WON THE RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   guess you dont have to be smart to scam the general public.

I registered the domain name americanrewardscenter.com after the scam hit my mailbox with a warning link to the BBB report (http://www.bbb.org/blog/2012/07/scam-alert-am ... ke-ticket-scam/) about a post card/letter scam offering free airline tickets.

The BBB finally cracked the case and it is a scam by the Platinum Travel Network.

Why would I register a domain name used in a scam? To warn others about the scam.
