- T| 8 repliesThese callers(2 different people called) tried to give the impression they are an attorneys office. Said they were from Bernstein Bryant and associates. I have searched and cannot find a company by that name anywhere but Canada. The first called left a message stating my full name date of birth and the last 4 of my social (I am sure there is a confidentially issue there) regardless she then said if I didn't call back they would be issuing and executing a deposition warrant...... Um no such thing but ok! She also stated I had 72 hours to call back before that happened. I did not call back. Less than 48 hours later I receibed the second call this time from a man who left far less information but expressed it was imperative I call him. The number has now been blocked on my phone! There have been no legal documents delivered to me not has there been anything placed on my credit ( I keep a close eye). Their misuse of legal jargon leads me to believe this is a scam hoping to scare someone into giving up their financial information to pay something you don't owe. Be wary the phone number is 855-344-7222. hope this helps!

- JR-Atlanta| 2 repliesThis lady from a Canadian "law" office, though I think it's just a scam, called me in (Atlanta, GA USA) gave me confidential information about someone they needed to speak to and that it was imperative. The lady left a social security number, address information, work related information on my voicemail. How the hell does this happen? I don't know the person in question nor was I asked if I did...this woman just blurted out private information that was not even mine in an almost robotic way. Gave me the impression this was just one person on a list she had to get through. The threats were "time-sensitive" and indications were of a criminal aspect.
Well, she must have gotten my cell number from wherever these people troll for them. So anyone out there that receives a call from 822-344-7222 (it is a scam) and I wouldn't worry one damn minute but run and report this and get your legal compensation and put these crooks out of business. Oh here is their web site ( http://www.bursteinbryant.com/ ), which is Canadian and which has no jurisdiction in my state of Georgia and most certainly not on a federal level in the United States. Though all of this is beside the point since it was not even a call issued for me, about me or in relationship to me but for someone I do not even know, though if I were a straight up criminal I could easily use the Social security number I was given (unbelievable) and get some "nice, pertty stuff as they would say here."
The name of the perpetrating troll, who threatened another US citizen with legal action using my cell phone is Elizabeth Carmichael of the soon to be defunct Burstein Bryant and associates. I've kept the recording and will be reporting it with pleasure, in person with the FDCPA here in Atlanta on Tuesday, August 13. Compensation through illegal action is a wonderful monetary reward.- Caller: jerks of Burstein, Bryant
- William replies to JR-AtlantaThe website says they are criminal defense lawyers.
This number (855-344-7222) does not appear on that website.
As scammers will impersonate real law firms, don't get your hopes up too high.
First you or your lawyer needs to subpoena the telephone companies to find out where this 855 number really goes. - Holly| 26 repliesI have dealt with them on helping me fix accounts with Express and my Victoria Secret account. They are not scammers, cuz I paid them they sent me a letter showing such and if shows I paid on my Credit report.......so not all people who collect debt are scammers, because I called original creditor and they sent me there so they are legit

- Heinz57 replies to HollySHILL Alert. So you come to a website that people use to check on unknown numbers and complain about scammers, to praise a company who you say is not a scammer. Somehow I am having difficulty with that concept. What is this company's name, actual address and website?
- Gunnar replies to HollyIf you paid them & they sent you letters, you have all of the info. we need to prove they're legitimate...or NOT! Post that info. We'll be waiting...
You won't be coughing up a damn thing & we all know why. You're a low-life SCAMMER "Holly"! You're a liar & a SHILL. How does it feel to know that you've just made a fool of yourself & exposed your SCAM? Are you proud to be a fraud? Do you tell your mother that you defraud people to make a living? I'll bet you tell her that you're in "finance" don't you "Holly"? Do you buy your business attire at Walmart or are you still digging through the bins at the Salvation Army?
Life sucks when you have to scam for a buck, doesn't it "Holly"? Get used to it. Scamming is the only thing you'll ever do. Who else would ever hire someone like you?
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - Tygerkat replies to HollyThey mailed you proof of this debt BEFORE you paid them correct? Because a phone call is NOT a legal method of debt validation. What company does Mr. Mason work for? What's the legal address of this company? It's on the paperwork they sent you.
- Yoda1725 replies to Holly| 20 repliesHi Holly,
I am trying to understand what you had written. You sentence structure, grammar, and lack up capitalization are all the hallmarks, of someone who never finished grammar school. You are illiterate. This coincidently, are the same traits exhibited by shills for criminal enterprises. Would care to admit to writing this post at the behest of criminals. I know this post may have lots of words that may have never seen, or do not know their definitions, but google is your friend. - LoLo| 4 repliesI received a call saying the same thing and I asked them to mail me documentation and they said they can fax or email I then stated so if you have my address and this is legitimate the mail me, they stated I'm being served this Friday which is crazy as a department store is not going to do this even if I owed the amount they state I owe. I'll wait for the serving papers
- Caller: Beirnstein, Bryant and associates
- Steve| 5 repliesI checked this so called collection company out when they called me. I called the original creditor and they sent me to these guys. Altho apprehensive, I paid the bill and they gave me a release letter. So satisfied. If I didn't call original creditor I never would have paid them.
- Caller: Bernstein, Bryant
- Call type: Debt collector
- COLLECTION'S GURU replies to LoLo| 1 replyActually the department store wouldn't pursue you, the collection agency would if they are within a legal standing to do so. First thing you should do is contact original creditor and see where it takes you
- COLLECTION'S GURU replies to LoLo| 1 replyLolo contact original creditor, see what they say and then come back to this post and let us know what happens. Thanks!

- Trey gildon| 8 repliesThey settled my account with Torrid for $439.86. Got a release letter showing my account was paid, was told by Mr. MASON to fax release letter to experian which I did and they removed it from my Credit report........was happy camper...
- Caller: Bernstein bryant
- Yoda1725 replies to Trey gildon| 1 replySo, you faxed a letter to experian, and they removed the item from your credit report, right? No one believes your lies. Actually it can stay on your report for seven years.
Is there any reason why I cannot find your employers online? - BigA replies to Trey gildonSorry but it doesn't work that way. You can pretty much do nothing with your credit report but dispute the entries. Faxing them a paid in full letter will mean nothing to them since it could be manufactured by you. It would have to come from the original creditor or the debt collector. We all know you are lying. You have failed in your mission and must now return the 5 cents your boss paid you to post that nonsense.
- Lori replies to Trey gildonThere may be more to your debt validation, FCRA Fair Credit Reporting Act, disputing debt, that includes sending supporting documents with credit bureaus. If after the credit bureau checks with the company and their entry for debt is found to be misapplied they will remove the entry on credit reports.
- BigA replies to Trey gildon| 2 repliesWell "Trey gildon" why don't you prove you are not lying. Since you received a letter from them you can give us the legal name and address of the debt collector. It has to be right there at the top of the letter you received.
