I was told to call for a free $100 gift card to Wally World and thanks for signing up for the savings plan.  I called and was on hold for ever.  Had to eventually hang up.  Scam!!!

THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, tax reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number, or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. Thanks! I just got the call and had to google it. Glad to know i shouldnt call it back. How did you find out anonymous? Did you call it. I would like to know if this is verified or not, but I am scared to try on my own.  I heard scams about numbers that call you and have you call a random number back...hence this 1(855)3972237 number....but then you are calling a foreign country and have a huge charge on your phone bill cause they charge you.  And its hard to fight because you actually dialed it. So thats why i googled it...kinda sad to hear it was a scam though lol, free money would have been nice!

I got this message telling me to call this "toll free #" 855-397-2237 for $100 gift card to wally world. as far as i know the only toll free #s start with 800, 888, and 877

Thank you "GOOGLE" because I just got a call from this number saying I just won a $100 gift card from walmart, and I don't remember taking any survey's, so to be safe I googled the #.  People will do anything to get your personal information.

Just got a call from 1-855-397-2237 which said it was giving $100 giftcard from Walmart and call this (allegedly) toll free number.  Toll free are 800, 866, 877, and 888.  Once I called an 8xx number and ended up in Jamaica.

Yeah, same thing -- I've been getting calls ALL day that originated from a 407 number saying something about me winning an XBOx 360 because my husband filled out an online survery.  Um, that would probably never happen, so I ignored the calls from then on.  But after about TEN today I answered and explained that I work from home AND have a baby and these calls are disturbing and PLEASE take me off the list (I was nice).  The lady said it might take a day or so to get removed so just ignore the calls.

Get home tonight and there's a message on my machine from "Lisa" (note no company listed) telling me to call the 855 number to redeem a $100 Wal Mart gift card.  The only reason I listened several times is because I made a RARE WalMart.com purchase this week.  But obviously 855 is not a toll free number I'm aware of.

I just got the voicemail & tried to call the number back to tell them that I wasn't buying into it and to delete my number from their directory but they put me on hold for 4 minutes & then the call was ended. Super sketchy. Hopefully it was a "toll free" number, although I doubt it. maybe I can talk to my cell phone provider and explain it, we'll see...

I just received this voicemail about the $100 gift card from Wal-Mart.  The number on calling ID is 117863585655, which makes me believe that it's a foreign phone number with the 11 in front.

Note that 855 is a new toll-free area code as of last year.

I go the message about a $100 wal-mart gift card for an 855+ number.  When I returned the call (thinking all along it was probably a scam), I got a message saying they did not recognize my phone number and to insert the number "you registered with."  Well, I never "registered" any phone number I'm sure, but eventually I was just cut off.  As with everyone else who has posted, I believe it was just a pfishing scam!

This is a SCAM  do not call 855-397-2237 --your phone bill will reflect calls to either China or Jamica

I don't have long distance on my phone. I called and got a recording saying they don't recognize my number...it was the number they called me on.

Recieved a call from this number - 855-397-2237.  The recording said I have a Wal-Mart gift voucher and to call the toll free number  855-397-2237.  I don't believe that is a toll free number.
