I received a call on both my home and mobile phones yesterday from this number. I missed the first call that was made to my home because I was trying to figure out the unfamiliar number displayed on my caller ID. A few minutes later I received a call on my cell phone from an unfamiliar number and answered the phone. When I answered the phone the guy on the other end starts talking, telling me that he will be delivering a summons to me from the court. He said that he would be delivering the summons to my home address and that he would try delivering it to me at my work place and that I would need to have a Supervisor present while he delivered the summons to me at work. He said that I would need to make myself available in the next 24 hrs. to receive the summons and that if I did not do so then I could be charged with a Failure To Appear in court... I had heard enough after listening to that and hung the phone up.. The part that sticks out to me is that when I answered the phone, he did not say who he was nor did he ask who he was talking to..!! He never asked me my name and he never even told me who he was supposedly representing!! I know for a fact that neither my wife or I have any type of collections against us. I'm just thinking that this was more than likely some type of a scam trying to scare folks into giving them personal information so they can try to use the info for monetary gain!! This is just my opinion on the reasoning behind these bogus, scum of the earth folks that try to use this method to scam folks!! They are the worst kind of thieves and I pray that the government sooner than later do something to stop this crime against the public!!!! If anyone else has experienced this, please leave a comment and share the type of experience you may have had with these crooks!!! Please protect yourself and be mindful of sharing any personal info to some random person that calls your number from an "800" number and from anyone for that matter!!!

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

I did call them back and I pulled out my trusty referee's whistle and gave them a blast when they answered.  They didn't like that very much.

    No Name
He called and left a bs message about serving me court papers but left no name of who he was trying to contact. So, I called him back and cursed him out. He called me back and kept saying "Ma'am" which means he doesn't even know the names of the people he's calling. Big time scam!

I got this phone number from the site www.hp.com/ePrint/ENVY4500. I accessed this site under instruction from the brochure accompanying HP ENVY 4500 printer, which I just purchased. The site I reached did indeed state that it was the HP site and gave this phone number to get help in setting up the printer, which I did using my cell phone. Two guys with Indian accent took turns to speak with me and, saying that they would set up the printer for me, took over my Sony PC. They dug into the guts of the computer and told me that several drivers were not working and that they would install them and remove the harmful worms etc. they claimed they found on the computer. After some half an hour of this they tried to sell me some $240 worth of Microsoft protection of some kind. By this time my suspicion, which had been growing all through, got too much and I  broke off the connection. I have no idea what information they might have stolen from my computer and urge HP to do something about what appears to me to be a scam and prevent its customers to be hoodwinked in this way. Twice after I broke off the connection, I was called on cell once with a number appearing (I did not write it down) and the second time with no identity. After seeing the message below, I became all the more convinced that this is indeed some kind of scam.
