Scam Calls going around.

Got a call from this number.  On my voice mail, left a message saying they were from the "Office of Processing"--no state, or county name.  Said a summons would be delivered to "residence" address of---then they used my work address.  Said the summons would need to be delivered to either myself or my daughter (they gave both names; however my daughter is 33 years old and I have no financial responsibility for her) Gave a "case number" and said I needed to call.  I deleted the message.

This number has called once per week on my wifes cell phone. Notice to anyone scared by such a SCAM.. it is just that .. a SCAM. If it were an actual summons via a law firm, they would not contact you via phone nor email... any and all summons MUST be handled via the Federal Mailing System (USPS) or served by a processor in person. If you get a call from anyone claiming they are a summons "dispatcher" you can kindly (or with absolute vulgarity) tell them make way for thine own head up ones own rear.

Don't be intimidated or threatened by these entities... know your rights and don't give anyone ANYTHING over phone nor email.

I received a call from an "unknown" number but in the serious toned message, they stated I must call this number for legal matters. They make is sound so official.. this was for a $50 debt that I mistakinly overlooked, I even tried to call the bank to pay it but they had sold it of to bottom feeders. Point is: if you get this call, do not tell them ANYTHING, they told me if I did not pay $4500 ....  Yes $4500 not a mis-type.... due to all of the lawyer expenses and everything that I would have to pay $5900 later once they took me to court. I thought this was laughable at best. What law firm would take on this case for $50? These people are definitely bottom feeders and DO NOT fall into their trap.

If they call again INSIST on something in writing. Remember - US MAIL. Not fax, text, email, or phone call. US Mail. Call them. Tell them so, all the time not admitting to the debt. DO NOT give them your address. A real debt collector knows it. When you get a letter from them, and I doubt it, you have the right to dispute it.

This "law firm" (Cafferty & Associates, only info they would give about theirselves) called ALL our extended family members and employers over a one week period, and threatened to serve my husband at work and garnish half our paychecks if we didn't pay $6,000 in two hours for furniture debt from a decade ago. Saw their number listed here after contacting the FCC. This debt was not on our credit report, which was a good sign it was a scam, so take note. Thank you to the creators of this website and to the US government for giving us rights as consumers! Knowing your rights will expose scammers when they try to come after you.

By the way I want to reiterate that this was a FAKE LAW FIRM, not a real one!!!!! I feel bad for whoever truly owns the name Cafferty & Associates - they should be aware that there are con artists out there posing as them.

Rec'd this call on my personal cell didn't answer since it register "unknown number".  Again 1 minute later on my home land line left a message that they are process server trying to serve papers on my premises to an "unknown" person.  Called with their reference number the man that answered very rude and asked if I knew this individual, said no, then hung up on me.

Call and said they were Orange County United disputed and I needed to call them so they can come sever me paper

This number calls from "unknown" and then leaves this 855 number as a call back.  They called me two weeks ago from 855-420-3477.  They called my work and said they were going to come serve me papers. They also had an old address for me. I called back the number to find out a company name (not to give them any info about me). When they picked up the phone, they said "litigation".  I hung up. I tried to call back again today, and they picked up the phone and said "legal department", and then hung up when I asked for the name of the company.  I called one last time, they picked up and said "legal". I asked the name of the company and the man on the other end asked who he was speaking to. I would not tell him my name. He said me not identifying myself was suspicious behavior. I pointed out that he wouldn't identify himself either. He told me to have a good day and hung up. The
"case number" they gave me is not a valid case number at my local court either.
