A call to my answering machine, purportedly from ATT

Same type of call today. Very heavy middle eastern accent. I very much doubt it is from AT+T.

Called saying they were from AT&T. Asked about getting into email and some weird things. Felt like a scam.

Seemed legit - caller id showed ATT but that could be faked I guess. They called over and over leaving messages until I picked up in person which is suspicious and pestering. Asked if we were happy with internet. Did not ask for any other info but said could set up email for me and help with network. This number is not coming up as ATT on look up though. GBA!

I got a call the other day from this number: 855-434-8341.  It was an automated "courtesy call" from AT&T asking if my internet was working "again", and that I should call back.  I immediately suspected this as fraudulent, as AT&T has never asked me this before, and also the word "again" was suspicious.  I did call them back just to see if I was right, and the woman who answered was not at all what you would expect an AT&T rep. to behave.  She was quite argumentative when I protested not to give out any personal information that she asked for, because I did not know what this call was about.  She was also talking "over me", which any customer service rep. would not do.  I have had a similar call in the past, claiming that they were with Kaiser, and this also turned out to be a fraud.

I got a call from them at 9:40 at nite on my cell  .  Phone! I told them I was sleeping and that I didn't do business  with AT and T.

Courtesy call from AT&T. I've had these calls many times in the past. They are legitimate and are only asking if my high speed internet is working properly. They also ask if I have any questions. They are always polite and never try to sell me any extra services. Not sure how to classify this type of call, so I put "survey."

this is really AT&T. You'd think the phone company would be able to have a caller ID that identifies themselves. Gave the nice lady a lecture about that after I told them my internet is working fine ... for now.

855-434-8341 called my cell today and left no message. Thank you all for reporting.

Rec'd call around 10:00 but did not answer...I am happy to read other complaints...too bad
we have to put up with such noxious people..

Received call - no call ID except phone number.  I do not answer any calls if I don't know who it is.  Went to voice mail, but they hung up.  This happens all the time from various numbers.  Appreciate this website where we can share issues.

perpetrated att called and asked about internet service!???  called it back and it said "this   is   trevor, i am  in tonight but can't take your call leave a message"

3/5/15. 10:00am. Stated he had two bombs. He hated the F$&@ing United States. Some other vulgar and weird message left on my answering machine. Reported call to local police.

I also received a call from "Tool Free Call" 3-6-15 at 3:38pm.  Gentleman identified himself as being from AT&T, and wanted to know if my Internet was working ok.  I said yes, and we ended the call.  On 3-7-15, I called AT&T  at 800-288-2020 to check into the number.  They confirmed it is an AT&T rep, just calling for customer satisfaction purposes.  So yes, no worries, it is actually AT&T "well-being" check.  Hope this helps everyone.

No Caller Name ID, only number. Only shows as "Toll Free Calle" (truncated). Did not leave any message. If legit at&t, then why no caller name ID? Why don't they leave a message? Perhaps scammers are spoofing the number?

Got a call but could not hear the person to good there was music playing in the background. Told him I could not hear him very good because of noise in background. Said he wasn't playing any music and I hund up.

Just got this robocall claiming to be ATT, left a message on our answering machine checking on how our internet service was doing.
Our DSL service has been bad for the past several months.
But I suspect, if this really was ATT, that their real motive for calling would be to try to move us to their U-Verse package, which they've been hounding us over relentlessly.
And the caller ID just showed "toll free caller" which they of all people should know NOT to do!!!!

ALL 855 IS BLOCKED AT THIS HOME.  DON'T CARE LEGIT OR NOT, I DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED BY ANYONE EVER.  IF IT REALLY IS ATT  I WILL CALL IF MY LINES DON'T WORK, IF IT IS ANOTHER LOW LIFE SCUM BAG-------FLUSH YOURSELF DOWN YOUR TOILET WITH THE REST OF THE SLIME FAMILY YOU WERE BREEDED FROM.

Called our house at about 7pm. We did not answer and they did not leave a message. We are on state and federal do not call lists.

However, we, also, have been hounded by AT&T resellers trying to sell us on their fake Uverse service. They don't have fiber in our neighborhood, so they actually set you up with regular DSL and satellite TV. Scumbags! If you want to consider changing your service, just call the number on your bill or go to att.com. You won't get a better deal with a reseller unless you've got 25 phone lines and want to pay $250/mo for 500Mb/s data.

Said they were from AT&T and were checking to see if I was having difficulty with my high speed internet.  If I was, they instructed me to call back customer service at the number (855-434-8341).  BUT only from 9am - 12 noon.  What kind of customer service is only open 3 hours?  Strange. Blocking the number.
