I just had a pop-up on my computer while on Facebook saying"my computer is infected with a virus, call this number immediately"  I did a full system scan and it was a scam. A while back we were getting calls 3-4 times a week from someone claiming our computer was at risk and needed to acquire
control of our system to repair. DON'T FALL FOR EITHER OF THESE SCAMS!

This popped up on Mozille Firefox.  I know that my anti-virus program doesn't talk to me, so I closed the whole application.

Yes I just had their popup show up, I am searching for who they are on several sites. So far I have learned that their is a legit site using the URL malwarealerts.org, you can type that in your browser and it is a site that offers a multitude of malware protection.  But if you type inhttp://malwarealert.org/ it will just bring up the alert page again. I just got this computer up and running today, and have a tech support followup tomorrow I will show this to them and whatever I learn I will come back and share. But so far it's a scam similar to the old FBI one that was floating around a few years ago.!

I experienced the same thing.  I was doing a Google search for a firearm and clicked on a website in the search.  I had been to the website several times before, but this time I had that tab open up.

I called the number and they answered "tech support".  So I said, "Yeah, I was looking up the Smith and Wesson MP15 22 and clicked on a website I had been to several times befor.  This time a tab opened up saying my computer is compromised and this woman won't stop talking in the back ground.."

They hung up on me.  I called them back two more times :). I might call them a few more times today.

    Computer is fine.

I made a post about this on Facebook and a friend called them.  He got hung up on 4 times, but he did get to speak to someone and inquired about buying snow from them.  Have some fun with it :)
